SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries after their small engine plane crashed near Montgomery Field Airport on Thursday afternoon.The incident was reported around 4:30 p.m. near the executive airport at Kearny Villa Road and Balboa Avenue.According to the San Diego Police Department, a witness said the plane crashed behind a building near the airport and was helping the pilot.The plane had just taken off from the airport when it clipped trees and crash landed in an open space behind the Kyocera business building on Balboa Avenue, said Dan Eddy, Battalion Chief of the San Diego Fire Department Two male passengers were responsive when crews arrived but were transported with major injuries.Police said there was no active fire and no structures or vehicles were damaged.Eddy estimated at least 20 gallons of fuel spilled from the wrecked plane.The plane missed a high voltage area by about 30 feet, said Eddy.No further information was provided at this time. 1004

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police Tuesday identified the two men shot and killed near Mountain View Park Sunday.Police say 33-year-old Tony Jackson and 37-year-old Robert Brown were shot near South 40th Street and Ocean View Boulevard. Both men were taken to the hospital where they later died.According to police, the victims were standing near the Mountain View Community Center when they were shot around 1:20 p.m. Sunday.RELATED: Two dead after Mountain View shooting  The suspect was described only as a black man wearing dark clothing. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — TwitchCon has announced it will cancel this year's convention in San Diego originally scheduled in September.The convention — which brings together popular video streamers and the community for panels, parties, and more — was set to arrive in San Diego from Sept. 25-27 before organizers called off the event."Due to restrictions on large gatherings and ongoing concerns for the health and safety of our community, the Twitch team and the local San Diego community, we have decided to cancel TwitchCon San Diego this fall," organizers stated online. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Uber announced Wednesday that the ride sharing company has chosen San Diego to be part of the new Uber Rewards program.The program lets users earn points every time they use Uber or Uber Eats, and the loyalty program has four membership levels: Blue, Gold, Platinum and Diamond.Once customers sign up, they’ll begin to earn points. Users will earn one point for every eligible dollar spent on UberPool and Uber Eats, two points for UberX, UberXL, Select and WAV and three points for Black and Black SUV.Once you earn 500 points within six months, you’ll advance from Blue to Gold. At 2,500 points you’ll advance to Platinum. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Two people are dead after a car and semi-truck collided during a Border Patrol pursuit in Otay Mesa Tuesday night, agents say. According to Border Patrol, two people were seen crossing over the border into the United States early Tuesday night. Agents described them as a man and a woman.The agency told 10News a getaway car was waiting for the pair. The driver of the car led agents on a high-speed chase reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.
