BEIJING, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Flights have resumed at Beijing Capital International Airport after a thunder storm hit the city at 8 p.m. Sunday causing disruptions, the airport announced on its website.The storm had delayed a total of 170 out-bound flights and canceled 25 fights as of 9 p.m., according to the announcement.The airport suspended flights at 7:40 p.m. Sunday due to the storm, which stopped at about 9:30 p.m..The National Meteorological Center forecast heavy rain for central Hunan, eastern Jiangxi, Zhejiang, and Fujian provinces as the country begins Monday its three-day national holiday.Thunder storms are forecast for Inner Mongolia, the northeast, and the north during the next three days.

LUOYANG, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao has stressed economic restructuring, agricultural production and the role of grass-root party organizations during his visit to the city of Luoyang in central Henan province.Hu visited state-owned enterprises, research institutes and talked with local farmers during this trip from Friday through Sunday.At Citic Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., the largest manufacturer of mining machinery in China, Hu learned that the company had shifted focus from manufacturing to research and development. He said innovation is the lifeblood of a company.He also visited a tractor manufacturing plant and a bearing producing company, both enjoying rapid growth thanks to restructuring. Hu asked officials at the two companies to continue with their restructuring and their ongoing expansion through innovation.Hu also visited two research institutes. PARIS, July 9 (Xinhua) -- China Changan Auto Group Corporation (CCAG) and French leading carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroen signed a contract Friday here on the creation of an equally owned joint venture in China.The contract was signed by Xu Bin, president of China South Industries Group Corporation, Changan's main shareholder, and Philippe Varin, chairman of the French part's Managing Board, at a ceremony attended by Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Bernard Accoyer, president of the National Assembly of France.Their initial cooperation will focus on introducing the Citroen DS line in China and launching a dedicated new brand for the venture, the two companies said in a joint statement.The contract also allows for the joint venture to market, at a later date, further vehicles under the partners' other brands, Peugeot and Changan, they said.Based in Shenzhen, southeast of China, the joint venture will have initial annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles and engines, which will meet the highest environmental standards. The contract also outlined two production lines, a specific range of vehicles by each side and a research and development center.The new joint venture will be capitalized at RMB 4 billion yuan (590 million U.S. dollars), to be shared equally by the two partners, and backed by an initial investment of RMB 8.4 billion yuan (1.24 billion dollars).The first vehicle is scheduled to be launched in second-half 2012, provided the joint venture is finally approved by the relevant authorities, the statement concluded.
