A Fond du Lac man who holds the world record for "Most Big Macs Consumed" ate his 30,000th Big Mac on Friday.Don Gorske said he ate his first Big Mac on May 17, 1972, and has enjoyed, on average, two of the sandwiches nearly every day since.“I take that first bite, it was the best thing I had ever tasted in my life,” reads a pamphlet from Gorske that chronicles his hamburger habit.An entry titled “Summer of 1972” reads, “When I’m not at work, or going to McDonalds [sic], I’m at County Stadium, eating a Big Mac while watching the Brewers, or I’m ‘cruising Main Street’ like everybody else."Gorske’s good health can be verified by asking his wife, a nurse practitioner, he writes.“My height is 6’2”, [and] if I try hard, I can get up to 195 pounds,” he writes.There have been eight days that have not included a Big Mac for Gorske since he took that first bite of one in 1972, he wrote. The most recent was November 23, 2011, when McDonald’s was closed for Thanksgiving Day. A hospital in Paradise, California, evacuated its patients as the Camp Fire, which was sparked early Thursday, got uncomfortably close.?"Given the Butte County fire is within close proximity, as a precaution Adventist Health Feather River Medical Center is evacuating all patients. All patients are being transported to surrounding area hospitals," a statement said.The Camp Fire began about 6:33 a.m. and within three hours had burned about 5,000 acres, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.Multiple roads are closed as a result of the blaze.The Butte County Sheriff's Office issued evacuation orders and warnings for numerous fire zones in the area.A red flag warning is in effect in the area, meaning Thursday will bring strong winds and low humidity that threaten to spread the wildfire.Paradise is located about 85 miles north of Sacramento, just west of the Plumas National Forest.The chamber of commerce in nearby Chico said The Neighborhood Church was being set up as an evacuation center. 1039

A bond has been set for a man accused of chasing after and shooting at a Rochester teen seeking directions to school. Jeff Ziegler, a former lieutenant in the Detroit Fire Department, was arraigned on felony charges of being in possession of a firearm and assault with intent to murder. His bond was set at ,000.According to Assistant Prosecutor Kelly Collins, Ziegler has a previous weapons conviction from 2005.  The judge additionally ordered the Rochester man to not have direct contact with the victim or his family, and to surrender all of his weapons to the Oakland County Sheriff's Department. He must also wear a GPS tether and attend mental health counseling two days a week. Because the suspect stays within a 10 mile radius of the victim, the judge ordered that if bond is made, he will be required to find another place to live. When 14-year-old Brennan Walker missed the bus and tried to walk to school Friday morning, he got lost after he couldn't remember the route. A Las Vegas family watched in horror from a Florida hotel room as their home was broken into Friday.From 2,000 miles away, Kenneth Kochman woke up to a heart-stopping notification on his phone."We got our Ring camera system up and we actually saw these guys burglarize our home live," says Kochman.From their hotel room in Orlando, Kenneth and his fiancée Melinda Piccirilli watched in disbelief as two men walked around the backyard of their home.The video clearly shows one of the burglars using a rod to knock down the surveillance camera just before breaking in.The family was concerned that the crooks were inside and may have harmed their three Chihuahuas."I knew they were trapped in a little area so if they wanted to get them or take them, or [possibly] get mad at them, take them or hurt them; you don't know what people are going to do," Piccirilli said.The two got back to Las Vegas on Sunday – thankful to find their dogs unharmed. A California farm that was tied to an outbreak of E.coli on romaine lettuce is now recalling cauliflower and other lettuce grown at the farm.Adam Bros. Farming Inc. sent out a news release Thursday saying red leaf lettuce, green leaf lettuce and cauliflower harvested November 27-30 has been recalled because it may also be contaminated with E.coli.The farm initiated the voluntary recall with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Thursday. The cauliflower was distributed in 10 states: Arizona, California, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania. It was also distributed in Tijuana, Mexico and Canada. The additional lettuce recalled was sent to states mostly on the western side of the country. Red and green leaf lettuce was distributed in California, Colorado, Oregon, Texas, Pennsylvania, Washington and Canada.
