HO CHI MINH CITY, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- The 11th meeting of the China-Vietnam Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation was held here on Sunday, with both sides pledging to promote bilateral practical cooperation in various fields for more fruitful outcomes.
"Over the past 40 years, we have worked hard and forged ahead successfully along a path of socialism with Chinese characteristics," Wang said, adding the path has brought fundamental changes to China and has provided the world with opportunities for common development.
Shanghai has been holding rehearsals, improving city infrastructure and training volunteers to meet needs of the approaching event.
"Taiwan is an inalienable part of Chinese territory," said Geng, adding that no one will waver the Chinese government and people's will and determination to safeguard China's sovereignty and territorial integrity and oppose outside interference.
Legislators should think and voice opinions in big-picture terms, said Li, chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, who presided over the meeting attended by 52 NPC deputies.
