TEMPE, Ariz. — An Arizona woman said a man posing as a Lyft driver tried luring her into his car. Around 9 p.m. Saturday, Bradie Trippi was waiting to be picked up in a parking lot in Tempe, Arizona. The Lyft app showed her driver was a minute away when a man in a gold Infiniti sedan pulled up next to her, she said. “He says, ‘I’m your Lyft’ and then took a phone, flashed it in my face,” Trippi told KNXV. She said the man showed her the passenger app — not the driver app — and the letter “f” of the “Lyft” emblem on his car was backward. Given the fact the man did not match the photo of her driver or description of her driver’s car, Trippi declined to get in the car. “He got aggressive,” she said. “Told me to get in the car, he’s gonna kill me, called me the ‘b word’, started yelling the ‘f word’ at me — I got kind of scared.”When her actual Lyft driver arrived, Trippi said the man sped off. Lyft and Uber spokespeople told KNXV that passengers should always check to make sure the photo of their driver, description of the vehicle and license plate match up before getting inside. Passengers should ask open-ended questions to their driver, like “who are you here to pick up?” Instead of “Are you here to pick up [name]?”Trippi and her actual Lyft driver described the imposter driver as a bald, African-American man with an accent. Target announced on Thursday that it is targeting diversity.In a press release, the retailer says they plan to increase its Black workforce by 20% in the next three years by "sharpening its focus on advancement, retention, and hiring."“The changes we’re making are going to have a meaningful impact on the careers of our Black team members and prospective team members,” said Kiera Fernandez, Vice President, Human Resources and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer in the press release. “A diverse and inclusive team at Target is one where there’s equity in how we promote, retain, and hire team members. Additional leadership development, training programs, and mentorship for our Black team members, along with a focus in areas of the business where our Black representation is not as strong, will offer new career development opportunities for our team for years to come. Summer camps have been among a number of spots that have been known as “super spreaders” of the coronavirus,” locations where dozens or even hundreds of infections have spread.While there is an inherent risk with holding camps amid the coronavirus pandemic, the CDC says with proper precautions, the risk can be minimized.This week, the CDC outlined efforts by four summer camps in Maine held over the summer. The camps combined for more than 1,000 attendees coming from 41 states or territories. The result was a success, with only three known asymptomatic cases of the virus stemming from the camps. Testing played a key role in minimizing the risk. The attendees were tested days before coming to the camp. Of 1,022 attendees, four tested positive, which delayed their arrival. Attendees were also told to isolate in the days leading up to their arrival.Once at the camp, attendees were frequently checked for symptoms. During the camp, 12 people were isolated at times due to presenting symptoms, but all tested negative for the coronavirus. There were also three cases identified during the camps among asymptomatic attendees, two of whom were staffers. The three attendees were isolated for 10 days and not cleared until receiving two negative tests.“Thoughtful and prudent public health practices used during overnight summer camps in Maine reinforces how powerful everyday preventive actions are in reducing and keeping COVID-19 transmission low,” CDC director Robert Redfield. “Despite more than 1,000 campers and staff from nearly every state and seven countries, only three people tested positive for COVID-19 during the camp and no additional campers or staff were known to be infected. The addition of a "notorious" galactic cantina will bring not only smugglers and bounty hunters to Disneyland in 2019, but also alcohol sales for the first time.Disneyland's "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge" will be home to Oga's Cantina, an "otherworldy" stop for music and exotic concoctions, park officials announced Thursday.Among the cantina's limited menu options will be wine, beer, and both non-alcoholic and alcoholic cocktails, according to Disney officials. Officials added that those drinks will need to consumed inside the cantina — so no running around at light speed with a drink.Menu options for kids and those under 21 will also be available, officials promised.The "Star Wars" inspired cocktails mark the first time alcohol will be publicly sold at the park since it opened in 1955.Alcohol sales are already allowed at Disneyland's California Adventure Park and Downtown Disney. The only other area inside Disneyland where alcohol is served is inside the park’s secretive private Club 33.Oga's Cantina sits in what Disney officials are calling the Black Spire Outpost on planet Batuu.
