SAN DIEGO -- Video taken Tuesday shows people climbing on top of the border fence near Friendship Park near the Pacific Coast US/Mexico border as the migrant caravan approaches.According to a Border Patrol spokesperson, agents are keeping watch on the U.S. side of the park, but aren’t aware of anyone climbing all the way over onto the U.S. side of the beach.Border Patrol says it’s technically not legal for people to sit on the fence because it’s on U.S. soil, but no arrests are being made at this time.It’s unclear whether or not the group is with the migrant caravan.The incident comes as U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced the closure of several northbound border lanes in San Ysidro and Otay Mesa.The closures are expected to cause delays. 765

SALT LAKE CITY — A Halloween protest party scheduled for Saturday night near Salt Lake City has been canceled, with organizers claiming harassment and intimidation led to its downfall."The Protest on Halloween" party was promoted via social media by a group calling itself Utah Tonight. June had reached its own high mark, with a more than 20 percent increase in sales over May.Existing homes are defined as single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums and co-ops.With July’s increase, to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.86 million, purchases are now up 8.7% from a year ago. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 40-year-old man was shot and wounded while riding his bicycle early Saturday morning in Logan Heights.The shooting was reported at 1:20 a.m. in the 2900 block of Marcy Avenue, said San Diego police Sgt. Michael Tansey.The victim was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk westbound on Marcy Avenue when someone inside a black Jeep Cherokee that was parked along the north side of the street exited the passenger side and fired several rounds at the victim, Tansey said.The bicyclist was struck twice by the gunfire and fled on his bicycle. He rode into a fast food restaurant in the area of 29th Street and National Avenue, where he was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds, Tansey said.The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his buttocks and left lower leg, Tansey said.The gunman was described as Hispanic, in is mid 20s, wearing a black shirt and dark pants, according to Tansey. 935

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 77-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured this afternoon by being struck by a car that was involved in a collision with another vehicle in La Jolla.The collision occurred at the intersection of La Jolla Boulevard and Nautilus Street, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.A 76-year-old man drove his Toyota Prius into the intersection during a red light and broadsided a Ford F150, which was driven by a 63-year-old man and had entered the intersection on a green light, Heims said.The Ford rotated and struck the pedestrian on the southwest corner of Nautilus Street and La Jolla Boulevard, according to Heims.The pedestrian sustained a Tibia/Fibula fracture in his left leg and other serious injuries, Heims said. The Toyota's driver sustained a minor cut on his face, and the Ford's driver was not injured.The San Diego Police Department's Traffic Division is investigating the crash, but drugs or alcohol is not suspected, according to Heims. 1008
