(KGTV) — A piece of cinema history located in North San Diego County will soon have a new home.The historic Graves House featured in the 1986 action flick "Top Gun" is being relocated and restored to make room for the Oceanside Beach Resort coming to the property.It's the first time the popular beach cottage rental, which was built about 137 years ago, will be moved.RELATED: Oceanside beach resort closer to construction after decade of delaysNot only is the home significant because it served as "Charlie's" home in the film, but it's a rare folk Victorian home, featuring architecture rarely seen nowadays.The home isn't moving far. It's already been relocated one block away for structural restoration. Afterward, it will be moved to the north side of the property on Pacific Street. OCEANSIDE (KGTV) -- For as long as he can remember, Pino Batallico loved the atmosphere of restaurants. He shared a picture with 10News of him working behind the bar of a restaurant in Italy when he was 8-years-old. He made 25 cents a week.Batallico was born and raised in Italy. All his relatives are still in his home country. He is devastated to see how the Coronavirus pandemic has affected it, with more than 12,000 deaths so far.“I think it’s very scary. It breaks my heart,” Batallico said. In Oceanside, he is feeling the effects of the pandemic through his restaurant Venetos. Pino and his employees still cook up good meals for anyone who wants them.“It doesn't matter if I have a penny or not. I'll still be here,” Batallico said. He said his business is down about 75 percent since the countywide order that prohibits dine-in service at restaurants. He is trying not to lay off any of his 11 employees, although he has had to cut his restaurant’s hours. The restaurant is a place he loves with customers who love him back.“He’s like a brother from another mother!” said customer and now friend, Jesse Teves. Teves said he met Batallico more than 20 years ago. Teves has celebrated important milestones over the years at Pino’s former restaurant in Encinitas and now at Venetos. “He's very humble. He always looks out for the customer,” Teves said. “It just naturally happened that we bonded and he became family.”Batallico said he will cook any Italian dish the customer wants, even if it is not on the menu. Like so many others, he is trying to survive with take out and delivery orders.“Whatever you like to do, we will do for you… to be safe,” Batallico said.His restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Monday and Tuesday, it is open from 4 to 9 p.m. 1803

(KGTV) -- A 63 year old man is grateful to be alive Saturday night after his sailboat capsizes and he was left swimming for his survival.Andrea Aria was on a trip back from Catalina, “I’m alive for the grace of God. Aria sat down with 10 News and talked about the horrific details, “I didn’t even see the wave until I made the turn and it was too late it was up on me”. The wave tipped the boat, he tried holding on, “I let go and went back in the water and I went under the boat and the boat went over me once then twice and the propellers are going”.During that moment he didn’t realize the injuries he was getting, “I didn’t feel, the adrenaline the cold water the salt all I know I couldn’t move my fingers I knew my hands were messed up “. Two casts on his hands because doctors say, he cut tendons leaving his fingers unable to move. The propeller on his boat also gashed his foot leaving him with 28 stitches.He swam about a half mile to shore, “every two strokes I was getting hit with a wave and I’m submerging and I’m having trouble handling it” Aria tells us.He says just as he was about to give up, his foot hit the sand and he crawled his way to the beach, “I finally made it and there were two police men and they said someone called us must have been an angel”.Saturday night, Aria is thankful to be alive, but he’s now realizing just how much he lost, along with his boat, “the things that I need to function everyday, they’re gone, they’re all gone” he continued, “I’m really without anything at this moment”.He’s now left to depend solely on his faith, “it wasn’t my time, I guess when its your time its your time.
