LEBANON, Ind. -- The man accused of shooting and killing a Boone County Sheriff's Deputy said on Wednesday he did it because he "didn't want to get bit by a dog" and that he has "no remorse" for what happened.Anthony Baumgardt said those two things as he was walked into court for his first appearance to answer to the charges against him in the death of Deputy Jacob Pickett.When asked why he did it, he said "I didn't want to get bit by a dog", referencing Deputy Pickett's K-9, Brik, that was with the deputy during a foot pursuit of Baumgardt on Friday, March 2 when he was shot.Brik was standing guard outside the Boone County Courthouse as Baumgardt was walked in Wednesday afternoon just before 1 p.m. 726

The sheriff also told the press that Paddock lost a lot of money in the past year and that could have been part of the motive for what he did. The sheriff also admitted that although the shooting did not meet the federal definition of terrorism, he personally considers it an act of terrorism. Lombardo also said that there is no evidence of other gunmen and they do not expect to arrest anyone else.In addition, the sheriff admitted that the missing hard drive has not been located and that it was common practice for Paddock to remove and hide hard drives.When asked if something like this could happen again, the sheriff admitted that it could. He also talked about what they have done since the mass shooting to prevent such an event. LINDA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A body was discovered in Tecolote Canyon Saturday evening, according to the San Diego Police Department.Police said a transient alerted them to the body in an area off High Knoll road, east of the Tecolote Canyon Golf Course and west of Genesee Ave around 5:45 p.m. A team from the San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office worked to extract the body, carrying it about 150 feet up the side of the steep canyon.Police estimate the body had been there for several days and had started decomposing. They believe it is a white man but have not determined an age.At this time the cause of death has not been determined, however investigators do not suspect foul play. 719

(KGTV) - A Lakeside woman who spent ,000 to have solar panels installed on her home is angry about an 8 electric bill from San Diego Gas and Electric.Michaela Wright told 10News her power bill is three times higher than it was at this time last year.“How could I possibly get a bill this high when I bought solar panels,” questioned Wright.Wright called the high bill “price gouging” and said it was "out of hand" with a 26 percent rate hike coming in the next three years. She’s been writing letters to lawmakers and calling the governor to demand action.To make a difference, Wright also wants her East County neighbors to talk part in a walk-out. She would like to see residents leave their homes and stop using power between 4 and 9 p.m., twice a month.“Hit them in the pocketbooks because money talks and when you start losing money they start paying attention.
