WASHINGTON, D.C. (KGTV) -- Starting January 1, a new federal rule requires hospitals to post a list of prices online, detailing the services they provide, according to KRON. The new law forces hospitals to post prices for every item and service they provide. According to KRON, hospitals have hidden that information from the public in the past, claiming it’s proprietary information or would confuse people. Few hospitals around the country post a small list of prices while others require patients to contact their healthcare provider or speak with someone in billing. Hospitals warn that the prices listed will likely vary from the actual prices charged to customers due to rates negotiated with insurance companies. 729

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump wore a mask during a visit to a military hospital on Saturday. It's the first time the president has been seen in public with the type of facial covering recommended by health officials as a precaution against spreading or becoming infected by the novel coronavirus.Trump flew by helicopter to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in suburban Washington to meet wounded service members and health care providers caring for COVID-19 patients. As he left the White House, he told reporters: “When you’re in a hospital, especially ... I think it’s expected to wear a mask.”Back in May, a photo surfaced on social media of President Trump wearing a mask during a tour of a Ford plant in Michigan. President Trump, however, did not wear a mask during the public part of the tour.WFTS' Jonathan Lemire and the Associated Press first reported this story. 902

We're about a month into the school year and teachers are struggling to keep children up to speed amid the pandemic. We spoke with a principal at an elementary school in Arizona who says students are about five to six months behind. Some kids who should be reading by now, simply are not.She says when you think about it, most students have not been inside a classroom since March. One challenge for teachers has been teaching at-home students and giving one-on-one attention to those in the classroom. The other challenge has been technology.“It’s day to day, whether or not technology works,” said principal Sarah Lewis. “And if you think about it, we've been hybrid for about three weeks now, but before that, we were all digital learning. We would have full days where we wouldn't have any technology, so basically we would have to tell the kids, go into Google Classroom and practice your multiplication facts.”Lewis says it's tough to hear young kids are learning on their parents’ cell phones, because they don't have a computer. However, she says she's proud of how fast teachers became tech savvy, as well as the level of understanding from most parents and their willingness to be flexible. She's also proud of the kids.“Five-year-olds do not understand that you cannot go over to your friend’s desk and ask what they're reading or coloring, but as far as wearing the mask and being OK when we ask them to step away or ask them to, I mean it's incredible that little kids are able to do it,” said Lewis.Lewis says she wants people to know just how difficult it is for teachers to balance teaching online students and those in the classroom. She says many are fearful of the pandemic, but realize they have a job to do. 1733

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court has ruled that Oklahoma prosecutors lack the authority to pursue criminal cases in a large chunk of eastern Oklahoma that remains an American Indian reservation. The court’s ruling casts doubt on hundreds of convictions won by local prosecutors. The case was argued by telephone in May because of the coronavirus pandemic. The case revolved around an appeal by a Native American man who claimed state courts had no authority to try him for a crime committed on reservation land that belongs to the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. The reservation once encompassed 3 million acres, including most of Tulsa, the state’s second-largest city. 670
