Smash Mouth says they've received hate mail from fans after taking part in a concert during an event that's since been linked to the spread of more than 100 cases of COVID-19.The band performed an Aug. 9 concert at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota in front of a closely-grouped crowd. Many of those in attendance were not wearing masks. During the performance, lead singer Steve Harwell was heard saying, "f*** that Covid s***."In the weeks since the event, at least 103 cases of COVID-19 have been linked directly to the Sturgis rally. And while it's unclear how many of those cases (if any) are linked directly to the Smash Mouth concert, the band has faced criticism since its performance.Earlier this week, the band posted a video of "recent fan mail" that they've received. Special Counsel Robert Mueller spoke publicly for the first after his office's two-year investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.Mueller, who did not conclude the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government, also declined to clear President Trump of obstruction of justice. "If we had had confidence that the president did not commit a crime, we would have said so," Mueller said. Mueller cited a longstanding justice department policy that a sitting president cannot be charged with a crime. It's based on an interpretation of the U.S. Constitution. In other words, Mueller laid out the evidence, but it's up to Congress to act through impeachment. Meanwhile, Trump has continued to fight congressional subpoenas in the wake of the investigation. "If he continues with this behavior, I think it puts us in a position where we're headed down that road," said Rep. Scott Peters, a Democrat who represents that 52nd district. "I'm concerned about the impression we leave if we don't do anything in the face of this behavior."Peters stopped short of calling for impeachment Wednesday, as did Democratic Congressman Mike Levin. Special counsel Robert Mueller's team said Friday that former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort lied on five major issues after agreeing to cooperate with prosecutors, including his "contact with administration officials."In a heavily-redacted document released Friday, Mueller's team also said Manafort lied about his interactions with Konstantin Kilimnik, his Russian associate who Mueller has said has ties to the Russian military intelligence unit accused of hacking the Democrats, and how they may have worked together to tampered with witnesses following Manafort's arrest last year.The investigators say they have evidence about electronic communications related to Kilimnik and travel records. Much of the details the prosecutors released to the court Friday were redacted in the public version of the document.The special counsel believes Manafort also lied about a wire transfer made to a firm he had hired and "information pertinent to another Department of Justice investigation."The special counsel's office last week accused Manafort of lying during his interviews, saying that his actions during his cooperation were criminal and breached his plea agreement.The filing is the first time prosecutors have summarized why and how they believe Manafort breached his plea agreement. Previously, the prosecutors simply told a federal judge Manafort "committed federal crimes by lying" to the FBI and special counsel's office during his cooperation interviews "on a variety of subject matters."Manafort says he has been truthful over several meetings with the special counsel's office.
