LITCHFIELD PARK, Arizona — Officials from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office say an 11-year-old boy shot and killed his grandmother then turned the gun on himself in Litchfield Park on Saturday evening. According to MCSO, just after 5 p.m., deputies received a call from a man near Litchfield Road and Wigwam Boulevard who reported that his grandson had shot and killed his wife, 65-year-old Yvonne Woodard and then shot and killed himself.The grandfather told deputies that he and his wife had full custody of their grandson. The couple reportedly asked the grandson to clean his room and pick up after himself throughout the day as he was "being stubborn about it."Officials say the two then sat down on their couch in the living room to watch television. The grandson then reportedly came up behind them and shot Yvonne in the back of the head with a gun that belonged to the grandfather. The grandfather then ran after the grandson but quickly returned to render aid to his wife. Moments later he reported that the grandson had then shot himself.At that point, the grandfather retrieved the gun and called 9-1-1. "In the preliminary stages of this investigation there had been no previous signs that the grandson might harm someone or himself and there was no cause for concern prior to this event," MCSO said in a news release. (KGTV) — Police arrested one person and rearrested another person this week in connection with looting in La Mesa following police protests last month.Both arrests were made without incident and for burglary during an emergency on May 30 during rioting in the East County city, according to La Mesa Police:On June 10, 26-year-old Helen Tewolde was arrested on suspicion of looting Sally’s Beauty Supply on May 30. An anonymous tip was submitted to police after video that appeared to show Tewolde at the scene looting appeared on social media, LMPD said.On June 11, 25-year-old Rey Estrada-Silva was arrested on suspicion of looting the Verizon store and Target in Grossmont Shopping Center on May 30. Estrada-Silva was previously arrested last week on suspicion on looting Play It Again Sports and was out on bail during Thursday's arrest, LMPD said.As night set on May 30, protests outside LMPD's headquarters turned chaotic, after vandals set fires to numerous buildings and vehicles. Lee Keum-seom hasn't held her son in 68 years.The last time she saw him, Sang Chol was four years old, and together with her husband and their daughter, they were headed south, fleeing the fighting during the early days of the Korean War.In the mass of hundreds of thousands of others trying to escape, Lee and her daughter lost sight of her husband and Sang Chol.They continued south, becoming part of the flood of refugees who crossed what became the Demilitarized Zone. Only later did she discover that her husband and son remained on the other side of the divide, in North Korea.They are among the tens of thousands of Koreans whose families were separated by the war.Lee is now one of a small number of people fortunate enough to be chosen for government-run family reunions.On Monday, the first reunion in three years will take place, at North Korea's Mount Kumgang. (KGTV) - Target representatives were on UC San Diego's campus this week talking to students about what they would like at an on-campus store.The company already has at least a dozen small-format stores on college campuses, including USC, UC Irvine, and UC Berkeley. Target says the stores cater to student's unique needs, providing food, apparel, dorm decor and essentials like toothpaste and body wash. While discussions are underway there is no concrete plan for Target to set up shop at UCSD. 530
