SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A mistrial has been declared in the trail of the man accused in the disappearance and murder of his stepson.Tieray Jones was charged with the murder of 2-year-old Jahi Turner. Jahi was last seen at a park near Balboa Park in April of 2002.Jones was facing several charges including 2nd degree murder and involuntary manslaughter. Two jurors found Jones guilty of murder while 10 did not while 10 jurors found Jones guilty of involuntary manslaughter and two did not.RELATED: Stepfather facing trial in Jahi Turner murder?During the trial Friday, the judge asked if jurors would be able to reach a verdict if given more time to deliberate. They responded by saying no. The District Attorney will now decide whether or not to retry Jones. Jones reported the boy missing, telling police Jahi wandered off. Jahi was in Jones’ care while the 2-year-old’s mother was on deployment.A countywide search followed with thousands of people looking for the young boy in the park and Golden Hill neighborhood.People also searched the Miramar Landfill, but Jahi was never found. Jones was arrested in North Carolina and charged in the death in April of 2016.Jones faces 25 years to life in prison.  1232

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man was stabbed to death in a Pacific Beach bathroom Sunday, and a man possibly linked to the incident was arrested, according to San Diego Police.SDPD officials said the stabbing was reported just after 7:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Grand Avenue as an assault with a deadly weapon with an injured man.Firefighters and lifeguards were the first arrive, and they found a 39-year-old white male bleeding from the upper torso in a men's bathroom, according to police. First aid was given within minutes and the man was taken to a hospital, but he died from his injuries.Police said witnesses reported seeing a man riding away from the scene on a bicycle immediately following the incident. A man matching witness descriptions was detained about a quarter-mile away from the scene and was questioned, according to SDPD officials.On Monday, officials announced 33-year-old Martin Alvarez was arrested and booked into County Jail on suspicion of murder.Police are not aware of any relationship between the victim and the suspect.Police are looking into whether cameras at nearby businesses have any video of the events surrounding the stabbing. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A portion of City Hall in Downtown San Diego was evacuated after crews working in the building possibly disturbed asbestos.According to the city, construction crews working on the lobby possibly disturbed the asbestos around 2 p.m. Thursday. The city said in a memo that a contractor working on the sprinkler system accidentally dislodged a section of the ceiling, causing it to crash to the ground. "Immediate action was taken to isolate and contain the material,'' according to the memo. The substance hasn’t yet been confirmed as asbestos, but hundreds of people were forced to evacuate as a precaution. Crews plan to conduct air testing Thursday night with the expectation of reopening City Hall Friday morning. The City Clerk’s office remains open and is working out of a nearby location until Thursday evening so candidates running for office can meet their 5 p.m. deadline. 909

San Diego’s median income can afford renters 552 square feet, according to a new report by Rent Café. The City of San Diego says the median income for a family of four is ,400.
