After targeting keto and paleo dieters, Chipotle is courting vegetarians.The fast casual chain on Monday expanded its new line of diet-based bowls to include vegan and vegetarian options. "Lifestyle bowls" launched earlier this year with Whole30 and double protein meals in addition to the keto and paleo bowls.The lifestyle bowls are a way for Chipotle to market itself to a wide variety of customers focused on health, especially as it rebounds from E. coli and norovirus scares from a few years ago. And the vegetarian and vegan options could help raise awareness among an increasingly important customer base.Chipotle first introduced its vegan protein option, Sofritas, in 2014. Demand for Sofritas has continued to grow, the company said. Last year, it cooked 7.5 million pounds of Sofritas. Vegetarian and vegan meals made up roughly 12% of all the meals Chipotle sold in 2018."We've found that many people are increasingly looking for plant-based protein options," said Chris Brandt, Chipotle's chief marketing officer. The bowls don't include new vegan or vegetarian ingredients. They're only available as pre-configured options on Chipotle's website or mobile app.Taco Bell recently tried a similar tactic.In January, Taco Bell announced a plan to test out a vegetarian menu board that would highlight the restaurant's current vegetarian options, including tacos, tostadas burritos and crunchwraps. A proposed bill introduced by Missouri Rep. Andrew McDaniel would require all Missouri state residents to own an AR-15 rifle. House Bill 1108, or the McDaniel Militia Act, proposes that every resident of the state of Missouri "shall own at least one AR-15 rifle."A resident, the language in the proposed bill states, is someone who is "18 years of age or older and under 35 years of age" who is not prohibited by law from possessing a fire arm. "Any person who qualifies as a resident on August 28, 2019, and who does not own an AR-15 shall have one year to purchase an AR-15. Any resident qualifies as a resident after August 28, 2019, and does not own an AR-15 shall purchase an AR-15 no later than one year after qualifying as a resident," language in the bill states. A typical afternoon inside the offices of a Midtown Manhattan skyscraper suddenly turned to chaos Monday when a helicopter, just 11 minutes into its flight, crash-landed on the roof above.Several floors of the building shook. Before the alarms started to blare and workers had a full understanding of what was happening, security was ordering them to grab their belongings and evacuate.Frantic employees squeezed into the stairwell, hurrying down flight after flight, not knowing that a helicopter had just crashed on top of their building, sparking a fire and leaving one person dead."It took a half hour to get from the 29th floor down to the ground floor. There were just too many people, it was too crowded, and everybody was trying to get off on all the floors at the same time," Nathan Sutton said, standing outside of 787 Seventh Avenue."You could feel the building shake, and you could actually hear the alarms," he said.The pilot, identified as Tim McCormack, died in the crash, law enforcement said.'My mind goes where ever New Yorker's mind goes'Lance Koonce was one block away from 787 Seventh Avenue when he heard something that sounded like a helicopter flying very low.
