SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Bystanders captured video of a truck involved in a crash near San Diego International Airport on Saturday speeding away from the scene.The video begins moments after a three-car crash on N. Harbor Drive at Lee Court around 9:30 a.m. A white truck reportedly slammed into the back of a Ford F-350 and sideswiped a sedan, according to the driver of the sedan, Kathleen Gleason. The driver of the white truck is then seen speeding away, creating a cloud of white smoke, with the driver-side front tire bent sideways. The driver first heads eastbound before turning around at McCain Road and heading westbound. A police vehicle is seen seconds later turning around and pursuing the truck.Gleason, a Lyft driver who was struck by the truck, told ABC 10News the suspect was determined to get out of the area quickly. She said she was in the middle of dropping off a passenger to the airport when she was struck. Thankfully, Good Samaritans gave the passenger a lift the rest of the way, she said.Gleason said police caught up with the driver and arrested the person. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Authorities are searching for a woman who disappeared while driving from San Diego to Victorville nearly two weeks ago. According to the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department, 53-year-old Izetta Burney went missing on November 24. Burney disappeared while driving home to Victorville after visiting a San Diego spa, a friend tells 10News. According to the friend, Burney’s phone goes straight to voicemail and her credit cards and bank account show no signs of activity. Burney was last seen in Victorville driving a black 2008 four-door BMW with California license plate number 7EXG207. She is described as five feet, 11 inches tall with a tattoo on her right arm and a mole above her lip. She was last seen wearing a black top and black spandex pants. The report, conducted by Bankrate.com, puts California in the 43rd overall position on the list of best and worst states to retire. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - As the temperature rises and more businesses, like movie theaters, are reopening San Diegans and people from neighboring counties are flocking to get a dose of normalcy."We sold out today which is great news for everyone, we sold out today very quickly." General Manager of Theater Box Donnie Eversole said.He said it was wonderful 'being home' back in the theater, "we haven't been in the theater for 90 to 120 days so it's like a new adventure."He said it helps that the week they opened, two blockbusters, Christopher Nolan's Tenet and Bill and Ted Face the Music, are screening.While they're capped at 25% Eversole said you can make sure you claim your seat by reserving online. They are working to add more showtimes while abiding by the new guidelines.Last time San Diego had sweeping reopenings, there was a huge spike in coronavirus cases. Eversole said they are doing everything they cna to prevent another spike, "every cdc guideline is followed to the letter, we do not bend, we do not break. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Birch Aquarium has opened a new exhibit showcasing one of the sea's most beautiful creatures in one of the world's largest habitats for the animal.The aquarium's new permanent exhibition "Seadragons and Seahorses" featuring Weedy and Leafy seadragons and several species of seahorses and pipefish.At the center of the exhibit will sit one of the world's largest seadragon habitats in the world, measuring 18 feet wide, 9 feet tall and containing 5,375 gallons of water, according to the aquarium.The exhibit takes guests into the lives of seadragons and seahorses, showcasing the sea life in a habitat designed to create the ideal environment for them to breed. Guests will learn how to observe the animals like scientists, catch distinguishing features, and identify courting and mating behaviors.The exhibit also gives visitors a peek into the Birch Aquariums Husbandry Team working to ensure the species thrives.
