SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Students at the Art Institute of California in San Diego say they feel betrayed by the institution after learning it's likely shutting down. They were notified Wednesday that if the school isn't squired by a buyer it will shut down on Friday, March 8.“We could see the cracks in the walls when a lot of the department heads were let go and they had one person running all the programs," said Tom Aleo, who studies game art and design. Aleo had just one quarter left before graduation. He says despite problems in the last year they were hoping for the best. "The emotions here are all over the place; shocked, confused, depressed," said Aleo. In July the Art Institute in Mission Valley stopped enrolling new students. And this week court documents revealed the company which operates the school, Argosy University, is accused of misusing millions of federal dollars.Students are frustrated they only got two days of warning that the school was closing, and are now scrambling to figure out their options. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police searched Tuesday for the man who may have groped several women in the South Bay.The most recent encounter happened Sunday at 7:30 p.m. as the woman was walking on Iris Ave. and Oro Vista Rd. in Nestor, police said.A man walking the opposite direction grabbed the woman’s breast, then ran away.The woman wasn’t hurt and told police the man didn’t appear to have a weapon.Police said the man was Hispanic, in his early 20’s, 5’6” tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, black athletic shorts, and black shoes.The man may be responsible for two similar attacks in the same area, said officers.The first incident happened October 30 at 7:30 pm. and the second was January 17 at 9:30 p.m., both on Oro Vista Rd. near the I-5 and 905 interchange.Anyone with information is asked to call the San Diego Police Department at 619-531-2000. 916

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Starbucks customers are noticing a difference since employees were notified Friday of a revised customer policy, acknowledging "any person who enters our spaces, including patios, cafes and restrooms, regardless of whether they make a purchase, is considered a customer."This comes a month after two men were arrested in a?Philadelphia store, sparking national outrage."They're trying to make sure they fix the problem and everything and keep everything straight because they're not trying to be racist, I think," Customer Maurice Howard said.Every customer who spoke with 10News Sunday said they were happy to hear about the revised policy, hoping what happened in Philadelphia will never recur.Customer Francisco Ruiz said the coffee shops provide a service for the community, a notion echoed by the company's vision to create a "third place between work and home."It's no secret students see Starbucks as a study sanctuary. It’s unclear exactly how many people were laid off in San Diego or companywide, but the move comes as SeaWorld continues to see an increase in attendance at its parks. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Starting in the new year, Californians will start to see paper license plates instead of dealer decals on the backs of vehicles. A new law taking effect January 1, 2019, mandates that dealers give out temporary paper plates or permanent license plates issued by the California DMV. The law is all part of an effort to aid law enforcement as well as limit toll evasion. The plates will list information including a temporary license plate number, report of sale number, vehicle identification number, make and model. There are several reasons California lawmakers passed Assembly Bill 516. Currently, law enforcement isn't able to identify some vehicles that may have been involved in a crime, according to the DMV. Having no temporary plate also makes it difficult to investigate crimes involving vehicles. Another reason for the law is toll evasion. According to the DMV, people who purchase vehicles often delay attaching permanent plates, making it impossible to identify vehicles violating toll requirements. The DMV says toll evasion costs local governments as much as million per year. 1256
