CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Two Good Samaritans say they saved a man off the ledge of the Coronado Bridge late Monday night. They said they spotted him while driving home from San Diego, and couldn't help but turn around to get him. 10News Photojournalist Zach Wonderlie talked to them about the life-saving rescue"We were driving from the San Diego area to Coronado and I noticed a kid sitting on the ledge," said Aiden Leavitt. The driver of the car, Charles Crehore, instantly sprung into action - deciding to back up on the empty bridge and help save the man's life. "I'd actually thought about this. I'd thought, 'If if I ever get in that situation, what am I gonna do?" Crehore said. "And I decided if it comes to me and I'm there...I'm stopping my car, I'm gonna get out and I'm gonna stop them."As he backed up to where the man stood on the bridge, Leavitt jumped out of the passenger side and bear-hugged the man on the bridge. "I just didn't hesitate. I just jumped out of the car and I grabbed him," Leavitt said. The man didn't fight back as Leavitt pulled him into the car, and allowed the friends to drive him to Sharp Coronado Hospital. It wasn't long before his family and police showed up to help.The men say they're grateful that they were in the right place at the right time. "I just hope that he works his way through whatever it is that he's having trouble with," Crehore said.If you or a loved one is experiencing symptoms of depression, the number to the San Diego Crisis Hotline is 888 - 724 - 7240. 1626

CLARK COUNTY, Wis. -- A Wisconsin sheriff's office is looking for suspects after a dog's front legs were zip-tied together and was found weak and skinny by first responders.The Clark County Sheriff's Office, located in the northwestern part of the state near Eau Claire, says the dog was found next to a bridge in the township of Thorp last Monday. COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — Scientists say an enormous chunk of Greenland’s ice cap, estimated to be about 110 square kilometers (42.3 square miles), has broken off in the far northeastern Arctic. For comparison, Manhattan is roughly 22 square miles. They see it as evidence of rapid climate change, which is leading to the disintegration of the Arctic's largest remaining ice shelf. The section broke off a 50-mile long fjord at the front end of the Northeast Greenland Ice Stream, where it flows off the land and into the ocean. One scientist says “we should be very concerned” about the ice loss. In August, a study showed that Greenland lost a record amount of ice during an extra warm 2019. 702

CORONADO, Calif. -- A distracted school bus driver is being blamed for a chain-reaction crash that injured students on their way home.According to the CHP, just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, a bus carrying about 50 Coronado Middle School students rear-ended a truck that was stopped at a light, which hit another truck.Afterwards, Coronado's police chief and other officers handed out water because the bus was stuffy.There were no serious injuries, but six or seven students did complain of some pain.  It's unclear how many were taken to the hospital.The CHP says the preliminary cause is unsafe speed. The driver - in his sixties - claims he was distracted by something going on with the students.10News reached out to the school district to find out if the driver will face a suspension, but have yet to hear back. 826
