A school bus driver's camera recorded the scary moment when another driver stopped in the middle of the Massachusetts Pike, exited his car and climbed onto the hood of the bus.Video recorded Tuesday shows a man forcing the bus to stop in the middle of the highway, then climb onto the vehicle's hood. The man got out right in the middle of the highway and he goes to the door of the bus.The bus driver does not let him in. So, he then goes back to the front and jumps right on the hood. The bus driver says the man was screaming that the windows on the bus were too dark."A man jumped on my bus going on the Mass. Turnpike, pulled me over in the middle lane and stopped the bus," said the bus driver."What did he say to you?" asked WCVB reporter John Atwater."His words were, 'Why are your windows dark?' I had the same reaction! I've got tons of stuff that shows people going through my bus, going through the red lights, and I think it's good to have it," said the driver.State police say they have identified the man who climbed onto the hood.No charges have been filed at this time.Courtesy of WCVB via CNN Newsource 1161

A San Diego woman spent months stealing from visitors inside some of the city's fanciest waterfront hotels, Harbor Police say.Anjeanette Crumrine, 49, allegedly stole more than ,000 worth of items -- largely from the Hilton Bayfront, Manchester Grand Hyatt, and Sheraton Harbor Island. Harbor Police say she also stole a violin worth ,000 from a classroom at Point Loma Nazarene University. "It worked for her, so she just continued to do what she was comfortable with," said Harbor Police Sgt. Michael Dye. Crumrine often targeted guests attending conventions at the large hotels. She'd walk in, pick up a suitcase, purse, or briefcase, go into an empty bathroom, pick through it, before leaving, police say. Crumrine is also accused of using the stolen credit cards to buy gift cards, and one time changed into stolen clothes inside one of the hotel bathrooms before walking out. "If it's a convention you have people moving in and out of rooms," Dye said. "It's an easy target because she would go unnoticed."Police arrested Crumrine?on April 18 after a slow speed chase through Valencia Park. But the threat of petty crime isn't over.Harbor Police report 218 property crime instances so far this year, up 22 percent from the same time period in 2017."We're just extra careful. We carry all of our stuff most of the time," said Jennifer Jones, visiting from Denver. "I don't put my stuff down. I hear too many stories like that."Crumrine is now in custody at Las Colinas, accused of, identity theft, burglary, and felony evading police, among other charges. Her next court date is May 1.  1654

A political action committee is putting up a billboard in a strategic place for President Trump to see when he visits Mar-a-Lago.The message will say: “Impeachment Now, Make America America Again!”According to Mad Dog PAC, they are installing the billboard along East Shannondale Road. This location is near Palm Beach International Airport and Southern Boulevard, a route the president frequently takes during his trips to the "Winter White House."According to the PAC's website, the group says the "Impeachment Now" billboard will be up from March 19 to April 15.This isn't the only one of its kind going up in the United States, Mad Dog PAC's website says they currently have other "Impeachment Now" billboards already up in Ohio, Virginia, Pennsylvania. One in California was on public display from Feb. 5 to March 4, says the PAC's site. The left-wing group has other politically-motivated billboards placed across the country for the 2018 mid-term elections that target Republicans. 1015

A senior administration official told pool reporters aboard Air Force One on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will be withdrawing some troops from Iraq. The official, who did not want to be identified according to White House pool reports, also said a further announcement would be coming soon involving troops in Afghanistan.Last week, ABC News reported that the Trump administration was planning on cutting the number of troops stationed in Iraq from 5,200 to 3,500.Last month, citing Defense Secretary Mark Esper, CNN reported the number of troops station in Afghanistan would drop from more than 8,000 to less than 5,000 by the end of the year. The US has maintained bases in the two countries since President George W. Bush’s first term. The US began operations in Afghanistan in the weeks following the attacks on America on Sept. 11, 2001. The US then began operations in Iraq in 2003, overthrowing the Iraqi government led by Saddam Hussein. 959

A new report through the Brookings Institute found that COVID-19 is the third leading cause of death for Black Americans.A former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention agrees with that. The Brookings report looks deeper at disparities. It says the mortality rate for Black Americans is more than twice that for Asian or white Americans.“So, only cancer and heart disease will kill more African Americans this year,” said Trevon Logan, a professor of economics at The Ohio State University. “So, things like stroke, diabetes, all of those are taking a back seat to the coronavirus.”Logan is one of the authors of the report, which finds the impact of the pandemic has disproportionately hit Black Americans in terms of health and money. Some of the contributing problems are a lack of access to care, more dense housing making it easier to be exposed to the virus, African Americans are more likely to be front line workers, and they’re more likely to be in low-wage jobs that have led to high levels of unemployment.“We were devasted in the last great recession and were only beginning to come out of that tunnel, that dark tunnel, in the last year,” said Logan. “So, these setbacks that are experienced by the African American community both in terms of health and economically are simply a different, or a magnitude that they are for the population overall.”Logan says the pandemic has exposed the lack of a safety net to get us through times of crisis. He says there needs to be policies to help all who are unemployed, not just race specific. 1573
