SAN DIEGO (CNS) - San Diego County public health officials have reported 2,509 COVID-19 infections and 27 additional deaths, bringing the county's totals to 122,972 cases and 1,280 fatalities.On Friday, a record 3,611 COVID-19 infections were reported. The cases surpassed the previous record set one week ago -- 2,867 last Friday -- by 744 new cases. No-cost testing will be offered to identified students on December 12, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Community Learning Center campus.The potential exposure at San Diego City College, 1313 Park Blvd, San Diego, was from September 14, 2018 to October 10, 2018. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Police Saturday were asking for the public's help in locating an elderly woman who went missing from her son's Mira Mesa home.Martha Carrington, 83, was seen leaving her son's apartment in Casa Mira View, east of Westview Parkway and north of Mira Mesa Boulevard, between 10:30 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday, San Diego police said.Carrington suffers from schizophrenia, high blood pressure and the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, officers said.Her family doesn't believe she took any money with her, and she has no cell phone.Carrington was described as black and about 5-feet-8-inches tall. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The eighth annual U.S. Sand Sculpting Challenge and Dimensional Art Expo will kick off Saturday along Broadway Pier.The three-day event will feature a dozen of the best sand sculptors in the world, including artists from the U.S., the Netherlands, Canada, Russia and South Korea.
