(KGTV) -- Cell phone video reportedly taken Wednesday morning shows San Diego County Sheriff's deputies at a San Marcos home that's been at the center of an ongoing battle. When Team10 arrived, there was an eviction resolution notice taped to a window on the property. Neighbors tell us that they're thrilled the eviction process is finally underway. This is a story that Team10 has been following since May - when we spoke with a local hopeful home buyer, John Masnica. He says Julie Frisino and her family unlawfully moved into the house while Masnica was in the process of closing escrow on the bank-owned foreclosure. Wednesday, he told us, "She's just a deadbeat from a family of deadbeats that take advantage of the system." He went on to say, "I hope that now that they're out of this house that there aren't any other available houses for them to try to break into."Frisino took the situation to court, claiming she had rights to be there. This summer, a judge said the bank trustee, not Frisino, had rights to the home.Masnica and his wife are due with their fourth child. (AP) — A Black man in Georgia is accusing police of violating his civil rights, saying a white officer slammed him to the ground and broke his wrist in the mistaken belief that there was a warrant for his arrest. An attorney for 46-year-old Antonio Arnelo Smith of Valdosta, Georgia, said he's still in pain and emotionally devastated more than four months later. Smith is suing Valdosta police and other city leaders in federal court. (KGTV) - A SWAT team was called to a San Marcos apartment complex Tuesday morning after a man suspected in a stabbing incident barricaded himself in an apartment unit.San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials said deputies were called to an apartment complex in the 200 block of Knoll Road shortly before 2:30 a.m. in response to an argument that escalated into a stabbing.According to sheriff’s officials, deputies arrived to find a 49-year-old man with multiple stab wounds. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.Officials did not immediately release additional details on the altercation.Responding deputies spotted a man believed to have been involved in the stabbing and attempted to make contact with him, but he ran into an apartment unit and barricaded himself.A SWAT unit surrounded the complex after the man refused to come out.At around 8:30 a.m., sheriff's officials said the man surrendered without incident and was taken into custody. He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility for attempted murder, officials confirmed.Late Tuesday afternoon, sheriff's officials identified the suspect as 20-year-old Saul Resendiz Jr., the victim's son. 1236

(KGTV) - A man was arrested in the North County last month for attempts at trying to abduct young girls, San Diego Sheriff's Department said Thursday.SDSO said deputies arrested Kyle Hackney in San Marcos on August 25 for trying to lure girls into his vehicle by offering them money and/or drugs in exchange for sex. SANA DIEGO, Calif. (KGTV) - NOAA has issued a La Nina Watch, which means a dry winter and longer fire season are possible this year for Southern California.This stems from colder water along the equator in the Pacific which has a domino effect on other parts of the world, including an increased risk of hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean due to weaker winds and also higher chances for a dry winter over Southern California because of a lack of moisture. A lack of winter rain means the fire season could be longer than usual.“So that means we enter the fall critically dry and then when you add a La Nina on top of that, it adds concern because we could likely go longer into the winter without seeing significant or beneficial rain,” said meteorologist Alex Tardy from the National Weather Service’s San Diego office.He said it’s not quite black and white though. According to the NOAA, there's about a 50% to 55% chance of a La Nina occurring this year, which will be monitored as the winter season approaches. Also, in the past 10-15 years, La Nina years and El Nino years have proven to be not as extreme as previously thought. He said while the watch has been issues and a dry winter is possible, it’s still being monitored.“It’s not time to panic but it is time to think and bring it back on your radar that fire weather is a major concern in Southern California,” he said. 1387
