BEIJING, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Romanian Prime Minister Victor-Viorel Ponta in Beijing on Tuesday with both parties pledging to boost bilateral ties.

Senior officials from other ministries and departments including banking regulation, development and reform, finance, commerce, housing and urban-rural development attended the session in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to listen to suggestions and respond to questions and criticism from lawmakers.

At Thursday's meeting, foreign ministers from the SCO member countries exchanged views on maintaining regional peace and stability and deepening cooperation in various fields, Wang said at a joint news conference with Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov.

BEIJING, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel agreed in Beijing on Monday to expand cooperation in such areas as trade, technology and environmental protection, to build a stronger strategic partnership to cope with global challenges.

The event's predecessor was the China Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair initiated in 1990. It was upgraded to an exposition earlier this year to focus on bilateral cooperation.
