Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen has announced a data breach that could affect customers who ate at the restaurant late last year or early this year.The restaurant said on Aug. 16 Cheddar's learned that between Nov. 3, 2017 and Jan. 2, 2018 an unauthorized person or persons gained access to payment card information in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.The affected information involved payment card information and payment card numbers.Information from about 567,000 payment card numbers may have been exposed through affected restaurants, according to Reuters.More information can be found here.  849

(AP) — A Colorado woman suspected of trying to sell three human fetuses from the 1920s and a fetal skeleton online has been indicted in California on charges of violating a U.S. law prohibiting the transfer of human fetal tissue.Emily Suzanne Cain, 38, pleaded not guilty to charges Tuesday, KUSA-TV reported .The case has been delayed until Nov. 20 in U.S. District Court in San Francisco, according to court records.The fetuses are believed to be from stillborn infants from the 1920s, court records said.Cain attempted in October 2018 to mail a package from Canon City in central Colorado to an address in the United Kingdom, according to a criminal complaint.The package, labeled "school teaching aids and T-shirts," caught the attention of U.S. Postal Service workers who noticed there was no signature on a customs form certifying the package did not contain dangerous contents, authorities said in the complaint.An X-ray of the package revealed a human-like shape, according to U.S. customs agents at the San Francisco International Airport cited in the complaint.Cain posted on Facebook that she acquired the fetuses from a university lab collection and was selling them for ,000, the complaint said.The specimens were traced to Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, the complaint said.University policy calls for specimens that are no longer needed to be cremated and not sold, university officials told investigators. CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) - Each Monday, a group of dedicated seniors gather in their woodshop, on a mission to make the holidays a little brighter for North County kids in need. The woodworking elves of the La Costa Glen senior living community in Carlsbad have spent nearly a year creating 100 handmade toys of all shapes and sizes.The toys have up to 39 pieces, crafted with various types of wood like walnut, cherry, and mahogany. RELATED: 10 special holiday events coming to San DiegoFive woodworkers spent the year making around 4,000 parts for the toys."It's all handmade, and a lot of love and care goes into putting it together," said Tom Woodbury, a member of the toymaking team. Countless hours have gone into the effort. Among the toys are a truck, grasshopper, and mouse. (KGTV) -- A man was arrested after U.S. Customs and Border Protection says he tried to smuggle more than 200 pounds of liquid methamphetamine into the U.S. According to CBP, the 36-year-old man tried to enter the U.S. at the Calexico Port of entry Tuesday night around 11 p.m. The man was referred to a secondary inspection point when a K-9 alerted agents to the gas tank area. Upon further inspection, CBP discovered 222 pounds of liquid meth worth 6,000. “Drug trafficking organizations have one goal in mind, which is to get their product across,” said Officer in Charge, Sergio Beltran. “Concealing narcotics in gas tanks is one tactic and by utilizing our layered enforcement, we were able to stop this before it plagued our communities.”The man was arrested and the drugs and vehicle seized. 826

CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) - A photographer in Carlsbad is helping to preserve the memory of the Greatest Generation, one portrait at a time.John Riedy works with The Greatest Generations Foundation. The group takes Veterans back to the battlefields on which they fought.During the trips, Riedy takes a portrait of each vet on their battlefield."It helps them realize that we’re not going to forget these guys," Riedy says. "When they’re gone, their legacies are going to live on."Over the last 12 years, Riedy has gone on nearly 50 trips with the Foundation and taken close to 300 portraits.For the 75th Anniversary of D-Day, he chose 75 of his favorite to hang in two galleries near Normandy and Omaha Beach."I think they were blown away to see their portraits up there," Riedy says of the reaction the Vets had when they got a first look at the galleries.Riedy says it's his personal way to honor the sacrifices they made."When you step onto Omaha beach, or you go to that cemetery at Omaha, and you see what they were up against when you see those cliffs, it's awe-inspiring," he says. "It’s like a switch flipped inside me. From them on I knew this was going to be my calling."Riedy and the Foundation have started to expand the program beyond World War II Veterans.
