A news helicopter showed a tanker truck barreling into a crowd of protesters on a Minneapolis highway on Sunday. The protest marked the sixth straight day of unrest in Minneapolis following the death of George Floyd. Floyd died while in police custody on Monday after an officer held a knee against Floyd’s neck for nine minutes. The news helicopter showed dozens of protesters swarming the tanker, with several protesters jumping on the hood of the tanker. As the crowd swelled, police rushed in and sprayed the crowd. WCCO-TV reported that the tanker’s driver was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. 629

A nurse who tested positive for COVID-19 says she’s getting better each day and expects to fully recover.Lisa Merck is not sure where she became infected with the virus but says symptoms started out very mild late last month."I started having just a little sniffling in my nose. It's almost like if you go outside and it's cold out and your nose just starts running a bit," Merck said in a video interview from her house. After a few days, in late February, the mild symptoms became worse.“Every time I stood up, I felt like I just kind of wanted to pass out. I got really tired,” she said. What surprised her is that after a few more days she started to feel better. She felt well enough to volunteer her time with a ski race in her small, central Colorado town. At one point, she went for a run with her husband.Doctors tested her for influenza and the results came back negative. Her health continued to improve, she said."I was feeling okay,” she said. “I watched my little nephew, and then around March 1st and 2nd, I started getting a fever. I started getting a little short of breath."This time, those symptoms persisted, and she eventually asked her husband to take her to the emergency room the second week of March. She tested positive for COVID-19. Merck provided a copy of her county health department notification, which requested she not have contact with members of the public while she recovers."I don't know where I got that kind of virus. That's the hard thing is not knowing I could have picked it up from a patient and I could have picked it up from a surface,” she said. “It could have been at an airport, on a place or a bus. I have no idea where I got it and that's the scary thing. And you know, especially since I am hyper vigilant about it, making sure my hands are clean and that I do the right thing.”Merck said she agreed to talk publicly, because she wants others to know what to watch for. She says she also wants the public to know that most people will beat the virus. "I'm feeling a lot better. I'm feeling more energetic. I did a little yoga this morning. I did some stretching," she said. She’s still staying away from other people as she recovers. 2193

A migrant shelter in Tornillo, Texas that's housed thousands of children may close next month.A tent-like facility in Texas that houses unaccompanied migrant children may close next month after they are all released to parents or sponsors in the US. That's according to an official who spoke with several news outlets, including CNN and CBS News. The migrant shelter is located near the Tornillo-Guadalupe Port of Entry and operated by BCFS, a nonprofit that operates health and human services programs. The shelter opened this past summer with a capacity of about 300 people. Now, it reportedly houses between 2,400 to 2,800 children. The official told news outlets the facility will no longer accept children and will close after the last child is released to either a sponsor or another facility run by the Office of Refugee Resettlement. The federal government's contract with BCFS will expire on December 31st, and the source says the non-profit does not plan to extend it.An exact closing date for the facility has not yet been announced. ALACHUA COUNTY, Florida — A portion of southbound I-75 remains closed Friday after five children and two adults were killed in a fiery crash on Thursday afternoon near Gainesville. The five children were reportedly on their way to Disney World, according to FHP. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at least six patients were transported to area hospitals from the scene — multiple patients with critical injuries. Alachua County Fire Rescue says the crash occurred at 3:42 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-75 near mile marker 393 north of Northwest 39th Avenue. The crash involved two tractor-trailers, a passenger van and a mid-size four-door sedan, according to Florida Highway Patrol. As of Friday morning, northbound lanes and only one southbound lane of I-75 is open in the area. During a news conference on Friday morning, Lt. Patrick Riordan said the church passenger van carrying the children was from the Avoyelles Parish in Louisiana. They were traveling to Disney World when the crash occurred. The deceased children range in age from eight years old to teenagers. The two deceased adults were driving the tractor trailers. 1153

A woman was arrested and charged after trying to attack a Burger King clerk over the wrong order in Livonia, Michigan, back in January.According to police, the woman got food from the Burger King and then came back the next day, demanding a refund because one of her burgers had tomatoes on it. Police say the clerk told the woman they could give her food or a credit, but couldn't give her money back.Police then say the woman got angry and threw the cookie rack at the clerk, tried to climb over the counter and threw a wet floor sign. It was all caught on surveillance video seen above.Eventually, the woman left but came back and threw food at the clerk's face. Less than two weeks after the Burger King incident, the woman also caused a disturbance at a Cricket Wireless store in Warren, Michigan. Police say she was disrupting display cases and stole a phone, and that she was mad she didn't get a phone with her new contract. In Livonia, she was charged with assault and battery, obstruction of justice, disorderly conduct and malicious damage of property. In Warren, she was charged with larceny and disturbing the police. 1141
