"That’s just my opinion."Rosati said he believes people were working out a safe distance apart."I know it’s very safe, there’s disinfectants everywhere, they’re wiping everything down all day long in between each person," he explained. "If anyone even slightly has the slightest cough or sniffle, the owner, Rick, asks them to leave."The San Diego Police Department said The Gym choosing to stay open is in violation of the county public health order, which is a misdemeanor. Police officers can give citations and even make arrests.However, officers may also just contact the business, educate them on the details of the order, and try to get them to comply."Everybody is using precautions and I don’t think that they should shut it down," said Rosati. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A false alarm prompted a brief evacuation at San Diego International Airport Saturday afternoon.Travelers were evacuated just before 1:30 p.m., with photos on social media showing travelers gathering outside Terminal 1 and on the tarmac outside Terminal 1 gates.Video showed a fire alarm sounding through Terminal 1 directing travelers to the closest exit.San Diego airport officials said a fire alarm did sound, however, it was a false alarm — though sure to irritate a few travelers at least.RELATED: 10News Flight TrackerNo injuries were reported. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy's Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies released a report today detailing recommendations for both countries to cooperate on border security and drug trafficking policy.Chief among the report's recommendations is the creation of a joint cooperating group to help both countries reconcile their differences to achieve the best policies possible. The report also suggests the creation of a joint task force to disrupt trafficking of opioids like fentanyl.Bilateral cooperation is made difficult at the moment, according to the center, due to the divergent policy views of U.S. President Donald Trump and Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who took office last December.While Lopez Obrador declared an end to the country's war on drugs in January, Trump has sought to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border to deter drug traffickers and violent criminals in addition to immigrants entering the country illegally."Despite these challenges, we see this as an opportunity to resume a dialogue at the highest level around bilateral security,'' said Rafael Fernandez de Castro, the center's director. "Our report offers concrete and implementable policy recommendations over the next six years of Lopez Obrador's presidency, ensuring policymakers are informed and prepared to continue cooperation efforts in a difficult phase in the bilateral relationship.''In addition to the two joint groups, the center suggested that the U.S. should improve its cooperation with and support for Mexico's newly established National Guard, its criminal justice system and community policing efforts in both countries. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A 14-year-old teen has been arrested and charged with a hate crime after punching a Rabbi near a University City synagogue, police say.San Diego Police said Rabbi Yonatan Halevy, of the Shiviti Congregation, was walking near the synagogue located near 3200 Governor Drive on Oct. 10, when he was punched by the teenager. The teen reportedly yelled racial slurs during the attack and fled the location, police added. Halevy was not seriously injured.Police say that Halevy also did not know his attacker.RELATED: Rabbi attacked outside University City synagogueThe 14-year-old male was taken into custody on Friday and booked into Juvenile Hall on battery and hate crime charges.In an interview with ABC 10News reporter Jon Horn, Halevy said this was the latest in a series of incidents by a group of teenagers targeting his congregation."Every day they come by here, taunt us, throwing bottles at us, sitting on our roof blasting music, and then breaking a window to my van," Halevy said.
