Wednesday marks White Castle's National Slider Day, and fans of the infamous White Castle slider can visit participating restaurants for a free hamburger. According to White Castle, customers can go to WhiteCastle.com on May 15 for a coupon good for a few slider and soft drink. For customers who visit White Castle wearing "western attire" on May 15 and every Wednesday while supplies last can earn two free BBQ Original Sliders with any purchase. "At White Castle, we take tremendous pride in the 2x2 inch sliders we've been serving and perfecting for nearly 100 years," said Jamie Richardson, vice president at White Castle. "We invented National Slider Day as a special tribute to the fans who share that appreciation for the slider and share their cravings with us. We hope everyone will have the opportunity to bite into a tasty slider on May 15."If you live in an area that doesn't have White Castle restaurants, it is offering cashback through the end of May when customers buy two boxes of any four or six count sliders using the 1055

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — No one likes to talk about bunions, but they probably affect more people than you think. Doctors said millions of people have them, and there are more than 500,000 surgeries on them every year. Dr. Bradley Lamm with the Paley Institute in West Palm Beach, Florida has spent the last five years inventing an internal device and step-by-step technique. The device just came out this month, and he has completed 10 surgeries, including one on a Vero Beach woman who had heard the horror stories of trauma and pain from bunion surgeries."It has not been the case at all with this (surgery)," said the patient from Vero Beach.Lamm created an internal device called a mini bunion by crossroads."The reason this is so successful and lasts forever is that it corrects the bone alignment and soft tissue alignment all in one surgery through a small incision," Lamm said.A bunion is simply a bump on the inside of the big toe, which causes the big toe to drift towards the second toe and sometimes overlap. The pain caused by them can be extreme. Lamm described this as a minimally-invasive surgery where a device is entered through a tiny incision. "You get better motion and quicker recovery, back on their feet and regular shoes in one month," Lamm said. Now the burdensome bunion could be a thing of the past, especially for a once active woman, who loved walking and swimming. "I'm hoping to be able to get back into it again and that's very exciting for me because I gave up so much that I loved," said the patient from Vero Beach. This story was original published by 1598

Utah Jazz Rudy Gobert apologized on Thursday after testing positive for the coronavirus, which caused the NBA to cancel Wednesday's game between the Jazz and Thunder. Later in the evening on Wednesday, the NBA decided to indefinitely suspend play for all 30 teams. Earlier in the week, Gobert jokingly touched reporters' microphones at the end of a news conference. The touching came as public health officials recommend keeping objects disinfected and people engage in social distancing. Gobert's actions happened before he came down with any symptoms of coronavirus. It was learned on Thursday that a fellow member of the Jazz also tested positive for coronavirus. "I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of concern and support over the last 24 hours," Gobert said. "I have gone through so many emotions since learning of my diagnosis…mostly fear, anxiety, and embarrassment."The first and most important thing is I would like to publicly apologize to the people that I may have endangered. At the time, I had no idea I was even infected. I was careless and make no excuse. I hope my story serves as a warning and causes everyone to take this seriously. I will do whatever I can to support using my experience as way to educate others and prevent the spread of this virus ."I am under great care and will fully recover. Thank you again for all your support. I encourage everyone to take all of the steps to stay safe and healthy. Love." 1455
