BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday encouraged young people to promote volunteerism and praised the progress of one university's voluntary service.
Li made the comments in a letter he wrote to Beijing You'an Hospital. Vice Premier Liu Yandong visited the hospital on Sunday, World AIDS Day, and conveyed Li's letter.
"The government did a good job but sometimes just intervened too much, which led to high administrative costs, low efficiency and corruption," he said. "I think the leadership understands what the problems are."
