(KGTV) — A group of Santa Clara County coworkers is more than 0 million richer.The 11 co-workers who pitched  a piece into an office lottery pool successfully matched all the winning numbers of the July 24 Mega Millions drawing.The co-workers, who range in age from 21 to 60, decided to play on a whim after seeing how high the jackpot had reached. SAN YSIDRO (KGTV) - Dozens of migrants filled out paperwork in Tijuana, getting ready to file for asylum ahead of the caravan.The Mexican city already flooded with migrants waiting for their turn to be processed at the San Ysidro Port of Entry.Lilia Velasquez, an Immigration Specialist and Lawyer, said the process could take months or even years. First, she said a group of about 10 migrants get a number. When they're called, they are processed and detained.It could take months to get to that step, which is why a group is given the same number. Velasquez explained many decide not to go through the process, or to find another way over the border.Next an agent is assigned to their case and conducts a credible fear interview, determining whether the migrant falls under 5 classifications; facing persecution for religion, ethnicity, nationality, political opinion, or being a member of a special group.READ RELATED:?First group of migrants from caravan arrive in TijuanaThen, the migrants face a judge. Whether or not they are granted asylum, the migrants then face another judge on charges for entering the country as a foreign citizen. SAN FRANCISCO (Los Angeles Times) — An appeals court has upheld California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s ban on in-person church services amid the coronavirus pandemic. The split ruling found that government’s emergency powers override what in normal times would be fundamental constitutional rights. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that South Bay United Pentecostal Church in San Diego cannot reopen immediately. SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) - A kindergartner walked out of his Santee school, crossed a busy four-lane road and made it to his home more than a mile away, his mother told 10News Thursday.The Cajon Park Elementary student had been placed in a 3rd grade classroom with his upperclassman buddy when his grandmother arrived to pick him up.According to the 5-year-old boy’s parents, the 3rd grade teacher told the boy to pack his things because he was going home and sent him to the office alone.The boy didn’t fully understand the instructions and walked past the office to his home, crossing busy Magnolia Ave.There is only one gate in and out of the school and the boy apparently passed through it undetected.School administrators noticed the boy was missing about half an hour later and told his grandmother, who panicked.The boy’s mother said she realized something was wrong when her doorbell camera sent an alert. She looked at the video and saw her son on the front porch with a woman approaching him.The woman turned out to be a school administrator who had been searching for the boy.Rob Cunningham has a kindergartner at the school and was concerned by the incident.“We trust the school to know where our child is when we drop them off and expect them to be here when we pick them up,” Cunningham said.Santee School District Superintendent Dr. Kristin Baranski responded to 10News’ request for comments, saying the boy was found safe within 15 minutes.She added the school has a practice of sending a buddy with younger children when they need to visit the school office but in this case, the guest teacher did not follow the practice.Administrators will put additional communication practices in place with guest teachers to make sure they are aware of the policy, Baranski said. 1789

(KGTV) - Doorbell camera video of a coyote following a man on a dog walk in Santee may be another example of coyotes becoming more aggressive in the area.On Monday after 9 p.m. on a quiet residential street, Ring doorbell camera video captures a man walking his dog. Moments later, something emerges from the shadows. It a coyote, and it's in an hurry. The video posted on the Ring app is titled "Beware coyote chasing a man with dog." That's exactly what appears to be happening. In the video, the coyote runs down the street before cutting in the man's direction. It's not clear if the coyote did catch up to the man or dog.Last week, 10News reported on Michelle Cimmarrusti's morning walk with Presley, an 8-year-old Silky Terrier. It unfolded on Palm Glen Drive, about a half mile from the site of the newest video. Two coyotes emerged from a bush and attacking Presley, while he was on his leash. Presley lunged, snapping his collar. He and the coyotes would end in a condo complex, where Presley was killed.Presley was the second dog killed by a coyote in the neighborhood in the last few weeks. Experts say coyotes attacking a leashed dog is a sign they're getting more aggressive in an area, and less afraid of humans, whether is food scarcity or the unintentional feeding of coyotes. 1315
