(AP) -- Vice President Mike Pence says he doesn't want to say "Black Lives Matter" because he doesn't agree with what he believes is the political message behind it. Pence told CBS on Sunday that he stands against racism and that George Floyd's death was inexcusable, but that "all lives matter." He said he is opposed to the Black Lives Matter movement because he believes it is pressing for a radical left agenda. He also says African American leaders have made clear to the Trump administration "they want law and order" and "peace in our streets." 559

(AP) — Facebook says it is deleting the name of the person who has been identified in conservative circles as the whistleblower who triggered a congressional impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump's actions. The company said Friday that mention of the potential whistleblower's name violates Facebook's "coordinating harm policy," which prohibits material that could identify a "witness, informant, or activist."Facebook says it is removing mentions of the alleged whistleblower's name and will revisit this decision if the name is widely published in the media or used by public figures in debate. On Twitter, though, the alleged whistleblower's name was circulating widely on Friday. The company does not have a policy against identifying whistleblowers by name and is not removing the posts. Some of the stories identifying the person came from the conservative news site Breitbart, which Facebook counts as one of its news partners in a newly launched news section on its app. However, the company said it was also removing identifying posts on the whistleblower from Breitbart. In a statement, Twitter said it prohibits the sharing of "personally identifiable information about any individual, including the alleged whistleblower." But the company's policy on such information does not consider a person's name to be private information, a category that does include details such as a person's address, contact information or medical records.U.S. whistleblower laws exist to protect the identity and careers of people who bring forward accusations of wrongdoing by government officials. Lawmakers in both parties have historically backed those protections. The Associated Press typically does not reveal the identity of whistleblowers. So far, President Donald Trump has avoided identifying the whistleblower by name. Exposing whistleblowers can be dicey, even for a president. For one thing, doing so could be a violation of federal law. While there's little chance Trump could face charges, revealing the name could give Democrats more impeachment fodder. It could also prompt a backlash among some Senate Republicans who have long defended whistleblowers. 2173

(CNN) -- "Saved by the Bell" may be coming back.Mario Lopez, who played the hunky AC Slater on the show, admits there have been talks about a reboot of the hit 90s American sitcom, but that obviously, the cast would be long gone from high school.Speaking at Fan EXPO Canada, Lopez reportedly explained the age issue."Obviously we couldn't be in high school still, so you'd have to be creative with the premise. But it's fun to think about. And who knows? You never say never," he said.Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who played the popular Zack Morris, added: "There's talks, there's always talks. I just heard recently there's talks.""We know about it. All three of us know about it, this person that's going to tackle it," he added.Elizabeth Berkley, who played Jessie Spano on the series, said if there was a reunion, it "has to be right."Lopez added that while everyone is up for it, no storyline has been finalized."Not yet," he said.In April, Lopez, Gosselaar and Berkley celebrated the show's 30th anniversary with a cast dinner along with co-stars Tiffani Thiessen, who played everyone's dream girl Kelly Kapowski, and actor Dennis Haskins, who played Principal Richard Belding. 1184

SAN DIEGO (KGTV)-- Twelve members of San Diego's California Conservation Corps returned home today, after a one-month deployment. On October 10th, 2018, Category 4 Hurricane Michael approached the Florida Panhandle. 155 mile-per-hour winds wiped out Mexico Beach City, Florida. For the last month, Corps members were assisting residents recover from the disaster."We did a lot of damage assessment analysis, temporary roofing, we did debris removal, tree removal," Corpsman Antonio Sanchez said. The CCC is a state agency that offers young adults environment-related jobs. Most of the work is in California, but they can be deployed elsewhere. This was crew leader Rebecca Voorhees' first time out of state."It was very eye-opening because we've seen fires. But not things like this," Voorhees said. "It makes you a little more humble because it's not just you here we're helping. We can help all over the world."But their hearts are always at home, especially on Thanksgiving. "I'm really glad to be home. 30 days is a really long time away from family, and so I'm going to go home and spend some time with them," Sanchez said. Their Thanksgiving vacation lasts only a few days. When they go back into the office on Monday, they will be put back on the "available for deployment" list. Their next stop could be to Northern California's fire-affected areas, where they go back to doing what they do best."We help people," Voorhees said. "To go out there and give everybody our all, to at least give them some sort of feeling that there are people out there are watching them and that care about them."San Diego County's branch of the California Conservation Corps is located in National City.
