MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican authorities say they have seized more than 9 tons of marijuana in the northern border city of Tijuana.The federal Attorney General's Office says in a Friday statement that prosecutors executed a search warrant at a home in the city across from San Diego.A photo published by the office showed dozens of suitcase-size, plastic-wrapped bundles in towering piles. Madison Wilson, an elementary school student in California, is raising money to donate multicultural crayons and books to local schools.Wilson learned that Crayola will be releasing a 24-pack of multicultural crayons called 'Colors of the World' in July and asked her mom if she could raise the funds to donate these crayons to her school.Wilson said she wanted children of all colors of skin to be able to accurately draw themselves in school.She also wants to use the money she raises to purchase multicultural books from local book stores and donate them as well.Wilson's deadline to raise the money is June 30. She had raised ,790 of her ,000 goal as of Tuesday afternoon. Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff's officials say a man has been taken into custody after threatening to shoot churchgoers in the north Valley. The investigation began on February 19, when detectives received a Facebook post in Romanian. The post reportedly translated into concerning statements, but nothing specific about the North Valley Romanian Pentecostal Church. A witness reportedly overheard a phone conversation in Romanian on speakerphone. In that call, Ismaiel Damian indicated he was planning on entering the church to shoot and kill many people in attendance with his machine gun. Detectives monitored Damian leaving for the church and took him into custody on Sunday.A .38 Special Taurus revolver was located in his vehicle. Damian was booked into a jail for misdemeanor use of an electronic communication to terrify, intimidate, threaten or harass.  907

MARSHALL, Ark. - The chief of police for Marshall, Arkansas, has resigned from his position after posting online threats of violence directed at Democrats.Marshall Mayor Kevin Elliott announced in a statement on Saturday via Facebook that Police Chief Lang Holland had resigned effective immediately."The City of Marshall strongly condemns the actions of Mr. Holland in his posts to social media," Elliott said in the statement. "His remarks in no way reflect City Government or the people of Marshall, Arkansas. In response to Mr. Holland's remarks, I, Kevin Elliott, as Mayor of the City of Marshall, consulted with the attorney for legal advice concerning these social media posts. Upon my meeting with Mr. Holland, he resigned as Police Chief for the city of Marshall effective immediately. Mr. Holland is no longer employed with the city." 852
