And you know my neighbors did too, they would comment on it," Shurli Wilkinson said neighbors first saw the reindeer appear perched on three palm tree trunks that acted as a pedestal."I wanted to make a deer for the front yard so we could decorate for Christmas," Metal Artist Don Rochrke said. He spent weeks creating the life-sized brown deer for his wife of 5 years.Wilkinson loves Christmas and was excited to put it out as soon as it was finished. "It's a wonderful time of the year, it's a time of sharing and giving, loving and expressing... It was something he did specially for me because I wanted the reindeer," she said as tears grew visible in her eyes.She was shocked when she woke up Sunday morning, looked out the bedroom window and saw it had vanished. "Apparently someone liked it enough to take it," Rochrke said. Wilkinson said he loves creating metal art and when he's finished, if he likes it, he wants to keep it, and if not, he's too embarrassed to think of someone else displaying it in their home. He's never sold his art.Instead, his home displays his vast collection, including floating whales in the kitchen, fish and turtles swimming on the walls and various waterfowl dotting the rooms.As he gets older, the work becomes more difficult."He's had his wrist fused and he has to have his shoulder replaced... I was thinking it was one of the last pieces of art that he would be doing," she said.The loss cutting that much deeper."Creating to me is the opposite of dying and since he's almost 80 and he's still creating it thrills me because I know he's living and enjoying life," Wilkinson said.The reindeer, serving as a symbol. One that she wants back, "it's just something precious that someone did for another person and for someone to take that away is heartbreaking."Wilkinson said they're now thinking about buying a surveillance system to keep something like that from happening again. CLEVELAND, Ohio — An 11-year-old boy stole his parents' SUV and led police on a high-speed before crashing it late Sunday night, Brooklyn, Ohio police confirmed Monday.WEWS television station has confirmed, through a police report, that this is the same boy who at 10 years old led Ohio State Highway Patrol on a 100 mph chase last fall.It started at 10:59 p.m. when Brooklyn police saw a black Dodge Durango pull into the driveway of a former city fire station. The 11-year-old fled from police and traveled out of the fire station and onto Memphis Avenue.Police pursued the vehicle heading eastbound on Memphis Avenue to Pearl Road.The 11-year-old continued to drive recklessly, reaching speeds higher than 70 mph. When Parma Heights police received a call from the boy's father at 11:06 p.m., saying his son was driving the Dodge Durango, officers from the Brooklyn Police Department canceled the pursuit.At 11:30 p.m., police spoke to the boy's father who received a call telling him that his son crashed into a parked truck in the area of 958 West Schaff in Cleveland.The boy was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with minor injuries. (KGTV) — Coronado is getting a touch of Hollywood Saturday, as 200 stars are installed in honor of cinema's leading icons.As the city ramps up for the Coronado Island Film Festival Nov. 8-11, volunteers will place stars featuring the names of Hollywood actors and filmmakers along Orange Avenue to construct its own Coronado Walk of Fame.Coronado's cinematic history dates back more than 100 years. One of the most well-known films to showcase the island is "Some Like it Hot," which featured the Hotel Del Coronado. The hotel was also featured in other flicks like "My Blue Heaven," "K-9," and "The Stunt Man."Of course, Naval Air Station has hosted Hollywood stars as well.
