LOS ANGELES (KGTV) -- Comedian Kevin Hart suffered “major back injuries” following a crash in Los Angeles early Sunday morning, TMZ reports. According to TMZ, the crash happened around 1 a.m. in Malibu Hills along the Mulholland Highway and Cold Canyon Road. Police tell TMZ Hart was not driving at the time of the crash. The driver of the vehicle also sustained major back injuries. A woman who was also in the car at the time of the crash didn’t require treatment. KABC reports that the three were riding in Hart’s 1970 Plymouth Barracuda when the driver lost control, veered off the road and rolled down an embankment. Authorities say the driver hadn’t been drinking at the time of the crash. 707

He then shared the video with thousands on Facebook, prompting more than 1,000 shares and comments. Racicot told the Edmonton Journal that he had another job lined up before announcing to everyone in the store that he was quitting. He cited mistreatment of employees as to why he left the job. "Our managers will make promises and never keep them," Racicot told everyone in the store. IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) - A plan to build hotel rooms and apartments in Imperial Beach is one step closer to happening. The Design Review Board unanimously decided to move the plan to city council Thursday. The development is planned for an empty lot on 550 Highway 75. It will be a four-story development with 51 hotel rooms and 47 apartments. Developers say there’s a need for hotel rooms in the area. “There are less than a hundred units of hotel rooms in IB now,” said David Brienza, the developer with the Blue Wave Project, “IB needs a hotel community.” People living in the area raised concerns about impacts to the area, like noise and traffic. The design review board asked developers for look for ways to mitigate those concerns. If the plan gets the city council’s approval, developers say they could start construction by mid to late summer. 875

(KGTV) - A 2-year-old pit bull is being called a hero after five strangers burst into an apartment in Lakeside and attacked his owner.Early Friday morning at the Julian Estates apartments, Ed Neumeister was sound asleep. His rescue dog Hitch was with him in bed. Neumeister's brother was in his own bedroom, awake and gaming."Someone was taking off the screen and sliding the window open," said Neumeister.Neumeister says his older brother heard a noise, and saw a man in his 20s crawling through his bedroom window. He was followed by four others, including a woman. All reeked of alcohol."They told him, 'We have a gun. We have a knife. We're looking for Eric with two dogs," said Neumeister.His brother told them they were at the wrong place. While four of them left the room, the man who remained threatened their pets."He said, 'Do you mind if we kill your animals?'" said Neumeister.Moments, the four intruders were kicking at Neumeister's bedroom door. "I wake up, and I'm being dragged off my bed into the living room," said Neumeister.His memory is hazy, but he says the four intruders pummeled his face for several minutes, leaving him with a black eye, cuts and scrapes. The woman bit his arm, leaving teeth marks. But she wasn't the only one biting. The numerous cuts on his pit bull's body and face - likely from a knife - reveal the struggle as the normally gentle Hitch defended his owner, eventually chasing off the burglars.After they took off, Hitch chased them down the street. Deputies later found him injured - and a hero in the eyes of his owner."So proud of him. He saved us really. That suspect is believed to be Travis Reinking, the man accused of Sunday's Waffle House shooting. Reinking remains at large, and authorities are offering a reward for information leading to his capture. After a brief chase, the car was recovered in a neighborhood, located near Reinking’s apartment.No one was ever arrested, but now Reinking has emerged as the prime suspect in the case.There is surveillance video of both the theft from the dealership and the chase. Investigators made the connection after seeing photos of Reinking after Sunday’s shooting.Brentwood Police officials confirmed there was an auto theft and brief chase.They also now are in close contact with Nashville police and law enforcement agencies – FBI, TBI and ATF – who are investigating the mass shooting.It’s possible video of the car theft suspect and more details will be released later today.   1402
