WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump and his allies are taking what appear to be increasingly frantic steps to subvert the results of the 2020 election, according to law scholars, including summoning state legislators to the White House as part of a longshot bid to overturn Joe Biden’s victory. Trump also has personally called local election officials in Michigan who are trying to rescind their certification votes in Michigan. His legal team has suggested that a judge order Pennsylvania to set aside the popular vote there. And his allies are pressuring county officials in Arizona to delay certifying vote tallies. During a press conference Thursday, the president's personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, who is working on the campaign's lawsuits, made accusations of voter fraud in a handful of states, and seemed to suggest officials in several big cities were working together. "It’s not a singular voter fraud in any one state. There is a pattern in several states," Giuliani said. "To any experienced prosecutor, it would suggest that there was a plan." (KGTV) -- The Vista Unified School District confirmed that a student at one of its high schools tested positive for COVID-19.According to the district, a positive case in a student was reported at Mission Vista High School on Tuesday, resulting in about 130 students in the four classes the positive student attended to be placed into a 14-day quarantine. Those students will pivot to virtual learning.Staff members involved in these classes or who may have come into contact with the student were also quarantined, the district said."The student did not come into close contact with every student; however, since this is our first incident, we are proceeding with an abundance of caution," a district release stated.District officials said schools will reopen at normal capacity on Friday.The positive test comes just two days after Vista Unified reopened its schools for in-person instruction.Part of the reopening plan, known as “Vista Classic,” includes attempts to have social distancing as much as possible. VISTA (CNS) - A man and woman were being sought Sunday after the man allegedly rammed and disabled a sheriff's deputy's patrol car while fleeing the scene of a theft at a 7-Eleven store.The theft happened at 2:10 p.m. and someone at the store began following the suspect who was driving a stolen car, according to Lt. William Amavisca of the sheriff's department.Deputies were notified of the theft and caught up to the suspect, who then rammed a deputy's vehicle on East Vista Way, Amavisca said. The deputy's vehicle was disabled. No injuries were reported.The suspect fled the scene and deputies later found the car abandoned and disabled, the lieutenant said. The driver and his female passenger apparently fled the scene on foot.A deputy recognized the man as having a felony arrest warrant, Amavisca said. 819
