BEIJING, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday sent a message of condolences to his Sri Lankan counterpart Maithripala Sirisena over the devastating floods and landslides in the country in which 146 people have been killed.
Zhang Youxia, head of the Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission, attended the launch ceremony.
The vice premier said that, as a member of the international football family, China would play its part in advancing football culture worldwide, all the while taking steps to increase the popularity of football domestically.
It urged more support for groups in need, such as the poor, children in difficulty, mentally-challenged people, left-behind children, senior citizens as well as people who have been convicted of crimes or released from prison.
Fire prevention headquarters said the blaze has been mostly brought under control and it had not expanded further as of 3 p.m.
