LOS ANGELES (AP) — Eric Lauer was on the Dodger Stadium mound when he heard the crowd suddenly get loud and wondered why."I thought there was like a streaker at first and then I looked around, there was nobody," he said. A man was stranded in the Los Angeles River at Atwater Village as a storm moved through, creating rapids in the normally driver riverbed. The firefighter who first made it to the man in a boat had to turn back due to the difficult position. A rescue swimmer joined the boat pilot and saved the man. The man was evaluated by paramedics.
