SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego company has a solution for tired employees or students -- they've created "napping pods" which can be rented by the hour."It's a place to go, escape from a hectic environment and recharge," said Hohm CEO Nikolas Woods.The pods are small, just 43.5 square feet each. They include a fully-furnished twin-size bed, mirror, charging stations, fan, lights and light and noise dampening curtains."Every piece was put together to create the most comfort," said Woods.Right now, Woods has just three pods in service, all on the University of Arizona campus. He hopes to expand to more college campuses around the country.He's also trying to get large corporations to buy some for their employees, and he's trying to get some places in major airports as well."A lot of employees could use a break," Woods said. "Wouldn't it be better to go somewhere and recharge, get your productivity level up?"People can find and book the pods through the Hohm website. The 9,000-square-foot location will include at least eight eateries and retail locations, according to founding partner Joel Tubao."My family has been in the community here since 1968," Tubao said, who owns other properties in the area. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A new report from California State University, San Marcos, shows San Diego County's craft beer industry continued its uphill climb last year.In 2018, San Diego County saw its craft brewing family grow to a total of 155 independent craft brewers, bringing the region to a total of 202 operating brewery locations, the report revealed. The study was compiled by CSUSM, the school's Office of Business Research and Analysis, and San Diego Brewers Guild.Data did show that brewery openings slowed starting in 2017, but have rose slightly since.The majority of breweries are packed into Central San Diego, hosting 55% of craft breweries in the county, the report says. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man found with gunshot injuries inside a car on a Mountain View street died after being taken to the hospital, San Diego police said.At around 11:50 p.m. Monday, officers were called to the 1100 block of S. 45th Street in response to a report of shots fired.When officer arrived at the scene, they found a man unresponsive inside a vehicle. The man had “apparent trauma to his upper body,” according to police.The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A march involving attorneys and staff from the Federal Defenders of San Diego, Inc. is set to take place in downtown San Diego Monday afternoon.The Black Lives Matter To Public Defenders march will begin outside of the Federal Defenders of San Diego Inc. office on Broadway at 12:15 p.m. Participants will walk to the courtyard of the federal courthouse, across the street from the San Diego Hall of Justice on 330 Broadway.Once at the courtyard, longtime San Diego County public defender Geneviéve Jones-Wright will deliver remarks and “address the role public defenders play in our criminal justice system and the statewide call from California public defenders to end police violence,” according to a news release.The San Diego march is one of several involving public defenders and attorneys happening Monday across California.Other counties having their own Black Lives Matter To Public Defenders marches include Los Angeles County, Orange County, Santa Clara County, Contra Costa County, San Francisco County, and Alameda County. 1063
