SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A nightmare of an opening week is continuing for an Ocean Beach tattoo shop. First, around 4 a.m. Saturday, surveillance video shows a man igniting an explosive against the window of Blackwater Tattoo Studio. Then, Sunday around 11:30 p.m., another man rides by on a skateboard, throwing a battery like cylinder through the same window. The owner, Mike Kellerman, shared surveillance video with 10News of both incidents. RELATED: Increased police presence in Ocean Beach following series of crimesThe first video shows a man skateboarding to the front of the business, taping something to the front window, and lighting it on fire. Moments later, the device explodes and blasts a hole in the window. "I expected the first one; the second one kind of pushed the limit," Kellerman said, adding he is not going anywhere. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego family is hoping to make their way home from Mexico on Thursday after having to ride out Hurricane Delta at the hotel where they were staying. Victor Lopez is a local restaurant owner of El Pollo Grill. Lopez's family traveled to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico last week. As Hurricane Delta was approaching, they booked a flight to leave the region, but their flight was canceled as they were heading to the airport. As the hurricane was approaching, the family was moved to a hotel ballroom where they spent the night as the hurricane passed. Lopez says there were no windows in the ballroom so they could only hear the heavy rain and strong winds. Lopez admits that the ballroom was crowded and there was some concern of COVID-19, but he said the hotel staff was disinfecting constantly and everyone was wearing masks. The hurricane did little damage to the resort in Playa Del Carmen, but just 45 minutes away in Cancun's hotel zone, debris and palm fronds were scattered all over the streets. Lopez and his family are hoping to return to San Diego on Thursday afternoon. Hurricane Delta is expected to make landfall in Louisiana on Friday afternoon. 1188

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A local father is recovering from stab wounds after getting attacked by an intruder in his home. The man's 20-year-old son shot and killed that intruder according to San Diego Police. It happened just before 6:30 Tuesday morning at a home in the 6300 block of Lake Shore Drive in San Carlos. Neighbors heard the violence. "I heard the gunshots, it was like three or four gunshots, then screams for help immediately after," said Denise Rolla. When police got to the home, they found the suspect dead in the pool and the 54-year-old homeowner with stab wounds to the upper body. Police say the homeowner's son shot and killed the intruder, who stumbled out the back and landed in the pool. "I heard what turned out to be the suspect fall into the pool and then a couple minutes later, you could see the blood start to spread out through the pool," said Andrew Grogg, who lives right next door. There are walking paths and Mission Trails Golf Course is located behind the homes which are just southwest of Jackson Drive. Neighbors say they don't have a problem with transients in the area, but police say so far, it appears the 38-year-old suspect is homeless. His name hasn't been released. The family owns a tire shop in La Mesa. They are well known and liked in the community. "They're local business owners in the community. They're great neighbors. They're kind, they're nice," said Grogg. Police say so far, the attack appears to be random. 1472

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A record number of voters have already cast their ballots in San Diego County. Registrar Michael Vu said of the 1.92 million voters in the county, 1,081,727 already voted as of Sunday. The Registrar of Voters pushed for early voting in 2020 to avoid crowds on election days and Vu said that hope has been met.“I’ve never seen numbers like this in advance of Election Day before,” said Vu.He said that they’re expecting between 80% and 85% turnout this year. With two more days to cast ballots, they’re not sure what method the remaining voters will use to vote. He added that in the 2016 presidential election, close to 500,000 people voted in person on Election Day, and it’s possible that many could still vote in person Tuesday, meaning the traditional Election Day lines could still be seen.“Hundreds of thousands of individuals we’re still expecting to vote and the question is will they vote with their mail ballot or will they vote in person,” said Vu.He said the fate of the next couple of days are in the hands of the voters and how they decide to vote.Vu added that if and when people vote, they’re encouraged to go to their designated super poll location. There are 235 super polls across the county. Residents can locate their polling place online here. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man arrested Tuesday after leading authorities on a pursuit through the East County Tuesday is being charged with two separate stabbings that occurred hours earlier.San Diego County Sheriff's (SDSO) deputies arrested Patrick Douglas, 51, near Highway 94 and Freezer Blvd. following a vehicle pursuit with deputies earlier Tuesday.Douglas was charged with two counts of attempted murder in connection with two stabbings the same day in El Cajon and La Mesa.Deputies said the La Mesa stabbing occurred at the 7-Eleven at 4610 Avocado Blvd. A female delivery driver for Frito Lays, identified as 35-year-old Dina Hammond, staggered into the store with multiple stab wounds to her upper torso after having just made a delivery. 757
