As a result, several U.S. airlines had no choice but to move forward with tens of thousands of furloughs last week, and many more job losses are expected across the industry in the weeks ahead if the PSP is not extended.”Congress squabblesFunding another round of stimulus has been a contentious topic on Capitol Hill since the summer as getting House and Senate leaders to agree with the White House has been an issue. Standing alongside him at the event was William Null, one of several men charged Thursday for his apparent connection with militia group Wolverine Watchmen and their alleged plot to kidnap Whitmer.Null and his brother Michael were charged with providing support for terroristic acts and felony weapons charges.A neighbor of William Null, speaking under the condition of anonymity, said they witnessed the FBI raid and said they shocked to hear details of the militia group's plot."In this area I had heard that there was a lot of militia people, their right to do so. But to the extent that we just found out last night, totally surprised about that," the neighbor said.The Null brothers had ties to militia groups and were frequently seen at local demonstrations, including in at a rally in Grand Rapids protesting Whitmer's stay-at-home order that took place in May.William Null was spotted on stage standing alongside Leaf, who was a guest speaker at the event.Leaf said that while his agency wasn't involved in the investigation into the Wolverine Watchmen, he was "shocked" to learn of Null's involvement."I haven't read everything up on it, I've got other duties to do. I have to look at it from that angle, and I'm hoping that's more what it is. So, to unite all of the now-solo walkers across the country, GirlTrek’s Ebony Andrews said the group launched a podcast, called Black History Bootcamp, focusing on African American women’s history.“Our focus is to help save the lives of Black women by inspiring them to take charge of their self-care, to own their joy, to claim what's their best lives,” Andrews said. “And one of the primary ways we do that is through encouraging community and encouraging walking.”It’s a move that can make a difference. According to the CDC, Black women are at high risk for heart disease and stroke and three times more likely than white women to die in childbirth. Some studies have linked those health effects for African American women to chronic stress, due to experiencing racism.GirlTrek seeks to counteract that.“Walking helps with stress. Walking is also something that requires limited resources. It's putting one foot in front of the other and getting out the front door,” Andrews said. “We have a saying that we say within our office that, ‘When women walk, things change.’”It’s something Jackson sees, too.“If you look at the social change that's happening now, imagine if you weren't in shape enough to walk - how could you actively protest if you're not physically able to keep a stance?” Jackson said. “People are walking for eight hours. SOLANA BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) - Signs warning beachgoers about the presence of a shark off North San Diego County remained in position Monday after a new sighting. A shark between four and six feet was spotted Monday morning off the coast of Solana Beach, lifeguards confirmed. Shark experts from CSU Long Beach were in the area and reported seeing four baby white sharks.Advisory signs about an aggressive shark were posted last week after a sea lion washed ashore with its tail missing.
