Drivers in New Orleans are claiming that they have been issued speeding tickets, even though their cars are in park, thanks to a speed camera operating in the city, WWL-TV reported. Donald Schulz told WWL that he has been issued speeding citations 10 or 11 times while his car remained parked. The camera, which is designed to ticket speeders, captured Schulz's license plate, instead of the car passing by Schulz's car. Schulz has had to make frequent stops at New Orleans City Hall to fight citations, causing him a headache and time wasted. "Whoever is responsible for reviewing these violations is not doing their job," Schulz told WWL.According to Fox News, the citations range from to 0.  City officials told WWL that a contractor is to blame, and that the contractor will train its employee how to properly issue citations.  906

Dozens of common breakfast cereals and snack bars have trace amounts of a controversial herbicide found in the weed killer Roundup, according to a report released today by an environmental advocacy group.The Environmental Working Group (EWG) found that 26 of the 28 products it tested had levels of Roundup's main ingredient, glyphosate, that were "higher than what EWG scientists consider protective of children's health." An earlier report found similar results in over thirty oat-based foods.List: The name-brand breakfast cereals and snack bars that contain weed killer chemicalManufacturers say their products are safe, but the EWG report argues that the vast majority of foods tested -- such as Honey Nut Cheerios and Quaker Simply Granola Oats -- have glyphosate levels that might pose a cancer risk with long-term consumption.None of the foods violated EPA limits on the herbicide, but the EWG uses a far more conservative health benchmark. California's proposed glyphosate limit, which would be the most restrictive in the country, still allows for glyphosate levels that are over a hundred times higher than the EWG's threshold.The environmental group says its lower threshold includes an added buffer for children, as "exposure during early life can have more significant effects on development later in life," according to Dr. Alexis Temkin, the lead scientist on EWG report.But manufacturers dispute that threshold. EL CAJON, CA (KGTV) -- The Mother Goose Parade is an East County tradition dating back to 1947. But because of the pandemic, this year's parade will look a lot different. The sights and sounds will be virtual, thanks to the hard work of long-time El Cajon business owner, Patti Shryock. Besides running Cameo Janitorial and Paper Supply, she's also a true historian of the Mother Goose Parade."I've been with Mother Goose since 1985," says Shryock. "I love to see Mother Goose out there, and people come up, especially the kids, and hold her. Then you get the parents talking about their memories of the parade, and being in their child's same position. This has been going on now for 74 years."And just like the parade, her business is also a fixture in El Cajon, opening its doors back in 1963. Shryock and her brother took over full operation in the mid-1980's."My dad passed away in 1985, and my mom in 1990. However, they gave us enough background, and we worked enough in the business, where we were able to continue it on," she said.Shryock says over time a lot of hard work and great employees have created a lot of success. But now they are facing an obstacle as they have never seen before, and that would be the COVID-19 pandemic."I never saw it coming," Shryock says.Uncertain times means they've had to think outside the box"Sanitizer wipes, I started making some myself," she added.Shryock and her team at Cameo Janitorial and Paper Supply have persevered to keep the business going. The same can also be said about her effort to keep this year's Mother Goose Parade afloat. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV)- A man in an El Cajon neighborhood is frustrated after weeks of watching an Amazon delivery driver speed through his neighborhood. The resident, who didn't want to release his name, said, “I mean, there’s been times I've seen them go 10 to15 miles per hour, then I’ve seen them go 20 plus.”The signs in the neighborhood list the speed limit at 5 miles per hour. With the holiday season among us, the delivery traffic is up. "With Amazon, they pull down our street maybe 3 to 4 times a week and I’d say more than half the time they’re speeding," he said.He was able to identify the company affiliation because of the Amazon packages in the car and on the dashboard. The neighbor tried reaching out to Amazon but didn’t like the response he got."The very first thing the lady said to me was, 'do you have proof'.” 10News reached out to Amazon and talked with a representative on the phone. They say they’re trying to track down the driver using the time and date in this surveillance video so they can address the issue with them directly. 1070
