The system can analyze DNA from bone fragments or other remains, then match it to genetic material provided by relatives of the missing.The technology depends on people coming forward to give a DNA sample via a cheek swab.But as of Tuesday, nearly two weeks after the start of the inferno, only about 60 people had provided samples to pop-up labs, said Annette Mattern, a spokeswoman for ANDE, a Colorado company that is donating use of the technology."We need hundreds," Mattern said. (KGTV) — Homeowners in east Chula Vista are hoping a meeting with police and city leaders will address a number of crime concerns in the area.The meeting started with an idea by Josh Roberts. Roberts lives in the community and was tired of seeing people complaining and reporting crime on Facebook instead of directly to the police department. According to Crimemapping, there were 44 crimes reported from July 5 to August 1 in a two mile radius in the 91915 zip code. The crimes range from burglaries to vehicle thefts to assault. REPORT: Chula Vista's rapid growth poses major challenges to public safety, trafficHowever, last December Wallet Hub ranked Chula Vista the safest city in the county and the third safest in the state. Children should be learning in classrooms.That was the message from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Thursday, less than 24 hours after the Palm Beach County School Board reached a consensus to start the 2020-21 academic year with online-only classes."Educating our kids is absolutely essential," DeSantis said during a news conference at the Jacksonville Port Authority. "I have no doubt we can do this safely."Claiming that students across the state have suffered an "education gap" from online distance learning, he urged school districts to consider opening brick and mortar schools right away for the 2020-21 academic year."I want our kids to be able to minimize this education gap that I think has developed," DeSantis said. "In spite of good efforts with the online, it's just not the same.
