He said the company must keep a sense of optimism as it tackles the issues.Facebook announced it will soon launch a new privacy feature that will allow users to clear their browsing history of Facebook, including what websites they have visited and what they click on. 1212

The county of San Diego is preparing to ask the state for nearly million to repave stretches of hundreds of roads it maintains.The Board of Supervisors could vote Wednesday to seek revenue from the recent gas-tax hike to repair the roads. The roads are in all ends of the county, from Bonita to Alpine to Vista. You can see a list of the roads here (it starts on page 3)."The proposed projects will improve the overall condition of the roads and will protect roads from deterioration and costly future repairs," a county staff report said. Gov. Jerry Brown signed the billion gas tax hike into law last year. Californians already pay a series of gas taxes ranking among the highest in the nation. The tax hike raised the per-gallon tax by 12 cents last November, with future increases planned. The bill, SB1, also added a 0 fee to the annual registration for electric vehicles, starting with model year 2020."People can't afford it. I'm retired but if you're working and have to commute, I don't think people realize how much of a dent that's going to make," said Vicky Bamburger, a Bonita resident who is supporting an effort to repeal the tax that appears to be headed to this November's ballot.But those who support the increase say fixing the roads will save California drivers from expensive car repairs due to problems like potholes, and save taxpayers from larger repairs later."A small improvement now - if you have a road that needs to be covered - that's going to be so much more cost effective, cost saving in the long run," said Catherine Hill, of the League of California Cities.Local governments have until May 1 to submit their gas-tax revenue road repair requests to the state. The conversation around wearing different protective gear is expanding. In particular, face shields.Teachers recently asked the nation’s top infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, about it and he said, “if you can get one, it’s not a bad idea.”Fauci went on to say that a shield shouldn't necessarily be worn in place of a mask, but more parents are considering the option for kids.“For some of the kids, a mask just isn't going to work. And in those cases, a face shield can be considered, but I think it needs to be understood that that’s not the default,” said Dr. Preeti Malani with the Infectious Diseases Society of America.Infectious disease experts say there just isn't enough data yet on how much protection a face shield provides.One study found it did significantly reduce the number of inhaled droplets, but cloth masks are also about protecting others. Shields were not as sure to do that as well.“If you're wearing a shield, the respiratory secretions that might be coming from your mouth or nose are not going to be as well contained,” said Malani.In the health care setting, face shields are used primarily to prevent splashing in the eyes.Malani offered this advice about finding the right shield.“It’s important that it’s long enough to really protect the whole face and that it wraps around fully and that it fits well up at the forehead,” said Malani.Companies, including Apple, Nike, General Motors, and John Deere have all started producing face shields.In a JAMA Network open viewpoint, it was pointed out that face shields have some advantages over masks.
