Hurricane Barry is coming in strong into Louisiana this weekend, but so is one couple's love.Jean Paul and Maria Templet had scheduled their wedding for July 12, but as the day grew nearer, Barry grew stronger. The couple decided to go ahead with their special day since it now seemed to be a family tradition.Maria said that her grandparents got married during a hurricane 69 years ago. "We just said we'll have faith and go with it," Maria Templet said.Paul believes the hurricane means their wedding will be extra lucky."You wet a knot, it gets tighter...and they say rain on a wedding day is good luck. Well, we got a hurricane," he said,Canceling that wedding day was not an option for the couple."You don't cancel a marriage," Jean Paul Templet said. "You don't cancel a wedding under any condition."As Maria Templet prepared for her big day, she said she took a deep breath despite the unusual circumstances."At the end of the day, we get to be married, and nothing is going to stop that," she said. Not even a hurricane. This story was originally published by Katie Easter on 1093

Rashida Tlaib used an expletive Thursday in pushing for impeaching President Donald Trump.Speaking to a crowd at an event sponsored by the progressive group MoveOn, Tlaib recalled the moment she won her election in November."And when your son looks at you and says, 'Mama look, you won. Bullies don't win,' and I said, 'Baby, they don't,' because we're gonna go in there and we're going to impeach the motherf****r," Tlaib said Thursday, speaking of Trump, according to a video posted on Twitter by Nestor Ruiz, an activist with United We Dream.Tlaib also penned an op-ed Thursday arguing that "the time for impeachment proceedings is now.""President Donald Trump is a direct and serious threat to our country," she wrote in 804
From flooding to tornadoes, a deadly storm system blew through parts of the country over the weekend. At least eight people are dead, including three children, after severe weather slammed the south.Lily Pierce survived a tornado in Mississippi, after she took cover for three hours inside a storm shelter.“All the sudden, you’re crashing on the floor crying, praying it’s not you,” Pierce told TV station WBMA.At least 18 tornadoes hit four states. Two children died, when a tree fell on their car during a tornado outbreak in Texas.“You can't imagine that happening. I would never think of that, you know, a tree hitting a car while you're going down the road, so it was very upsetting,” said neighbor Joe Spangler. The children’s mother ran to Spangler’s house. begging for help.“She was like 'help me, help me,' so I pulled her in the house, and I saw down the road that her husband was down there, so I ran down there to see what was going on,” Spangler told TV stations KTRE. “When I got down there, I mean, I saw the size of the tree and how it was on the car. I knew it wasn't a good outcome.”More severe weather is expected this week and threatens some of the same areas hit over the weekend, as well as the East Coast. 1238
