A Flint woman was accused of placing her infant children inside a suitcase and leaving them at the curb.On Wednesday, Flint Police responded to a residence in the 500 block of West Pierson Road to assist Child Protective Services.When officers were on scene, a 26-year-old woman placed items to the curb "as if it were trash" and fled from the residence at West Pierson Road on foot, according to a release from Flint police.Police say she was detained after a brief foot chase. Officers returned to the residence and found the woman's two sons, but two children were missing. After searching the area, officers located two 11-month-old twin girls inside a suitcase at the curbside. They were transported to the hospital where they were listed in good condition.The woman remains in custody. 804

A college student from Georiga's jail sentence was reduced from four months to two months on Tuesday in the Cayman Islands after she and her boyfriend violated strict COVID-19 measures last month.According to The New York Times and CNN, the Cayman Islands Court of Appeal reduced 18-year-old Skylar Mack and her 24-year-old boyfriend Vanjae Ramgeet's prison sentence, saying the initial sentence "was not appropriate."Last week, Mack and Ramgeet were sentenced to four months after they both violated the island's mandatory two-week quarantine.Per the Associated Press, Mack arrived on the island on Nov. 27, but on Nov. 29, she broke quarantine by leaving with her boyfriend to attend a water sports event.According to The Times, Mack and Ramgeet initially pleaded guilty to breaking the quarantine rules and were to complete 40 hours of community service. A father and son are accused of slaughtering a female black bear and her two cubs as they rested in their den in April.Andrew Renner, 41, and Owen Renner, 18, of Palmer, Alaska face several felony and misdemeanor charges related to illegal hunting. It is against the law to shoot a black bear with cubs in Alaska.Alaska Wildlife Troopers, which announced the charges on Monday, said the act was caught on a motion-activated camera set up inside the den to monitor the bears as part of a study being conducted by the US Forest Service and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. The camera produced both video and audio of the encounter."In this case numerous crimes, including felonies, are believed to have been committed," trooper Col. Steve Smith said. Smith said the truck and boat used to transport the Renners to and from the bears' den have been seized.The father and son were out skiing together on April 14 when they approached the inhabited den, troopers said in a statement.The video captures Owen Renner firing two rounds at the adult bear inside her den, the troopers said. Andrew Renner then killed the "shrieking" newborn cubs and discarded their bodies outside the den, the statement said.Court documents obtained by CNN affiliate KTVA say that Andrew Renner is captured on video saying: "It doesn't matter. Bear down."The men also removed the adult bear's tracking collar."They'll never be able to link it to us," Owen Renner said, according to the court documents.Two days later, the men were captured on video returning to the den to pick up shells casings and dispose of the bear cubs, troopers said.Two weeks later, on April 30, Andrew Renner brought the adult bear's skin and tracking collar to officials at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, saying that he realized after shooting it that it was a nursing bear and had not seen any cubs.The men have been charged with unlawfully taking a female bear with cubs, unlawfully taking a bear cub and possessing and transporting illegally taken game.
