TUCSON, Arizona — A Tucson, Arizona man who had been in an altercation fired a gun at a police officers, hitting one of the officer's belt. The belt prevented a bullet from entering his body.That man, 51-year-old Roy King, was in a bar with his wife and family when an argument started. King's stepson, who was at the bar, called 9-1-1.During the argument in the bar, King allegedly pulled out a handgun and threatened two people. King then headed to his home.Tucson police officers went to the home in response to the 9-1-1 call and found King's vehicle in the driveway. When the officers approached the car, King started to yell at them from the backyard. He still had the handgun.During the confrontation between King and two officers, gunfire was exchanged. One of the rounds fired by King hit an officer's duty belt. The belt stopped the bullet from injuring the officer.King then went inside his home and called 9-1-1. Additional TPD officers went to the home and were able to talk King into coming outside. He was not injured and was taken into custody.Roy King was booked into Pima County Jail on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. One for the incident at the bar, and one for the incident at the home.The incident is still under investigation. 1310

University of Notre Dame President Rev. John Jenkins has tested positive for COVID-19, the school announced Friday.According to the school, Jenkins was in self-isolation this week after learning that a colleague "with whom he has been in regular contact" tested positive for the virus. A subsequent test revealed that Jenkins had also tested positive for the virus."My symptoms are mild and I will continue to work from home," Jenkins said in a statement. "The positive test is a good reminder for me and perhaps all of how vigilant we need to be."Jenkins' test comes hours after President Donald Trump announced that he had also tested positive for the virus. Reports indicate that Jenkins was at the White House on Saturday for Trump's nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court. United Airlines says it is dropping a controversial 0 fee on consumers who change a ticket for travel within the United States. The airline also says that starting in January, customers can fly standby for free no matter what kind of ticket they bought. United said Sunday that when it hears from customers, getting rid of fees is often their top request. The moves come as United and other carriers are desperately trying to lure people back to flying, which has dropped sharply during the pandemic. Two brothers who threatened to stop cooperating with prosecutors in the case against actor Jussie Smollett have changed their mind. In a statement issued Thursday, an attorney representing Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo, said that two who have admitted to helping Smollett stage a racist and homophobic attack against the Black are ready to testify because a gun that went missing after police found it in their home had been found. Smollet is charged with lying to police about the “attack” that authorities say the actor staged to gain publicity for his career. The actor has maintained his innocence.Smollett's charges were filed by special prosecutor Dan Webb, who was appointed to the case after Smollett originally had his charges dropped by the Cook County State’s Attorney Office .The prosecutor's announcement of dropping the charges last year drew ire from Chicago Police and outgoing Mayor Rahm Emanuel.Smollett allegedly filled a false police report, when he told officers that two attackers shouted racial and homophobic slurs at him.The Osundairos were originally arrested for the alleged attack, but were later cleared of charges after police claimed that Smollett paid the men to stage the attack. 1222
