Professor Chikaodinaka Nwankpa of Drexel University was arrested on Monday, accused of stealing 5,000 in research grant funds, the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office announced. Nwankpa is accused of using the money for strip clubs, sports bars, meals, and iTunes purchases.Nwankpa was charged with theft by unlawful taking and theft by deception.“Mr. Nwankpa inappropriately and criminally diverted tens of thousands of dollars that were allocated for research purposes toward his own private enjoyment. He betrayed Drexel University and tuition-paying students he was paid to educate,” District Attorney Krasner said. “After a comprehensive investigation by our office’s Economic Crimes Unit, Mr. Nwankpa will have his day in court and will have to answer for his crimes. The District Attorney's Office accused Nwankpa of spending more than ,000 in purchases at adult entertainment venues and sports bars, and more than ,000 on purchases toward iTunes, meals, and other unauthorized purchases."Nwankpa attempted to hide adult entertainment expenses by claiming that the items were for catering and food, despite the fact that 48% of the 114 separate charges he made were done on weekends, and 63% were processed between the hours of midnight and 2:00 a.m.," the District Attorney's Office said in a statement. Nwankpa made the allegedly deceitful purchases from 2010 to 2017. 1403

Shortly after the body of 52-year-old Vanita Gray was found in her SUV on Houston Whittier at Hayes on Detroit's east side, her boyfriend drove up to a Detroit police scout car and told officers that someone killed his girlfriend. A source said that Gray's 52-year-old boyfriend, who was armed with a gun, also told police that he shot the person who killed her, but the source says the boyfriend didn't have details to support his claim. The only thing police knew for sure was that Gray was dead from multiple gunshot wounds after someone opened fire on her in her SUV. Someone called 911 around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday to report a vehicle on the side of the road with bullet holes in the windshield.Twenty-one shell casings were found in the area with some of the bullets hitting the glass window of a nearby furniture store. And it didn't take long for police to go from calling Gray's boyfriend a person of interest to the suspect in her murder. Gray and her boyfriend were living together in a home, less than a mile from where she was killed. She was wearing flip flops and lounge clothes. Gray was reportedly employed in a rehab center. Her boyfriend was on disability, according to his relatives. Right now, Gray's boyfriend, who is on probation for retail fraud, has not been charged with her murder. Spring is just days away! That means a lot of people are gearing up to “spring clean” their homes. But it’s also a great time to “spring clean” your health! One of the best parts about spring: more sun shine. "Having sun exposure before noon is scientifically proven to help you with mood and sleep,” says Dr. Kate Johnson, a family medical practitioner. Dr. Johnson says sunblock is a must for your skincare regimen, and the higher the SPF the better. "Even though we can get vitamin D from the sun, we can take that in a supplement to protect our skin," she says. Come spring, there are plenty of new fruits and vegetables in season, including apricots, asparagus, strawberries and artichokes. Unfortunately, when nature is in full bloom, that means allergies are, too. So, before they strike, stock up on nasal sprays. "You want to hop on those right now,” Dr. Johnson says. “I recommend dosing them at bedtime." When taking care of your health this spring, it’s a good time to ditch the “I can’t exercise” mentality. "If you are not an avid exerciser currently, I recommend starting with walking,” Dr. Johnson recommends. “[It’s] a fantastic way to go, and I like to tell my patients to start with 5 minutes is a great start, and we can build as we go." Remember, no matter the season, sleep is key! Don't let anything come between you and rest. Dr. Johnson recommends putting you phone down before sleep, as it can interfere with falling asleep. 1466
