SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A decision regarding the release of a sexually violent predator into Jacumba Hot Springs has been delayed.A judge said he still needed to look at alternatives after researching the proposed home at 45612 Old Highway 80 in Jacumba Hot Springs where 60-year-old Michael Poulsom would live if released. After listening to testimony, the judge says he’s not ready to make a decision about whether to grant his petition to be released from a mental hospital.Poulsom was convicted on three separate occasions, including twice in San Diego, for sex crimes involving children. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 1995, but committed to a state hospital as a SVP, a designation for sthose convicted of a sexually violent offense and diagnosed with a mental disorder. In Poulsom's case, he was diagnosed with pedophilia disorder.He has since petitioned for his release into a conditional release program for sex offenders. Doctors have medically cleared the release.RELATED: Bill introduced to keep sexually violent predator hearings open to publicAmong those that testified today was County Supervisor Dianne Jacob, who represents the area where Poulsom would be released. She says there has to be other areas he can go."Where are the other 700 places they checked out. I question that and I question if they checked out over 700," Jacob said.This hearing comes just after the court of appeals threw out a judge’s decision that would have freed the man known as the “Bolder than Most Rapist,” Alvin Quarles. Quarles was charged in more than 50 rapes, robberies, and burglaries in the 80s. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A heartbroken local woman says her brother was killed in a Phoenix park while trying to 'protect his friends.'"He was infamous for making people laugh. He had a heart bigger than his being," said Amy Clark, Isaac Clark's sister. Last month, Isaac Clark, 23, moved from San Diego to Phoenix to be closer to his 4-year-old son. He had a job lined up doing event setup. Last Wednesday, Clark found himself in a park around 1 a.m. His sister Amy says he was checking on two friends, who had been evicted and were living in a car.Police say he heard a vehicle being vandalized, and headed toward the sound before realizing it was his friends' car. That is when the suspects approached Clark, sparking a fight. Clark was stabbed multiple times. He would die at the hospital."I feel like he died a hero. He tried to do the right thing. He was trying to protect his friends," said a tearful Amy Clark.Three people were arrested. Police say Maurice James, 24, and Eldon Sandoval, 18 are facing second-degree murder charges. A third person, Chantel Ben, 21, faces hindering prosecution chargers."They took my one-and-only sibling. They took my one-and-only baby brother from me," she said.An emotional vigil was held at that park a night after the incident. Clark's sister is haunted by their conversation about the violence in the world right before he left San Diego. "We were saying we just need to be more kind, more empathetic," she said.A grieving sister says that kindness was nowhere to be found In that park, early that morning."We need to get justice because he now has a 4-year-old son who has to live without him," she said.A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help with funeral expenses and to set up a fund for his son. 1753

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after he crashed a car into a wall Sunday morning, critically injuring one passenger.Police say the teen was driving too fast on the 3900 block of Imperial Avenue near the Mt. The couple fears their home could be next.A broken-down drain pipe that is 50 feet deep and 60 feet wide is believed to be the cause of the hole.On Tuesday, ABC 10News spotted City of San Diego crews taking measurements and assessing the sinkhole.John Knox said he owns his mobile home, but a property management company owns the land it sits on and might be on the hook for fixing it.According to Knox, the management company has ignored his calls regarding the hole.ABC 10News learned the city is now investigating. 755
