A United Airlines flight made an unscheduled stop at Washington Dulles International Airport on Friday after an odor in the cabin left passengers feeling ill.Flight 1675 from Baltimore-Washington Airport (BWI) was en route to San Francisco International Airport (SFO), when it landed at Dulles at about 7:45 a.m.The plane landed without incident, according to a statement from Dulles International Airport. The Fire and Rescue Department responded to the scene and transported seven passengers to local hospitals for evaluation, the statement said.Raman Santra, one of the passengers on the flight, said that there was a "faint fuel smell" in the cabin before departure. The odor became "quite strong while in the air" and several passengers complained of nausea, chest pain and trouble breathing, Santra said.United Airlines canceled the flight and informed passengers that the aircraft, a Boeing 737, required "prolonged ventilation system maintenance," Santra said.Santra's wife, Jo Palmer, was one of the seven hospitalized because she had more acute symptoms. He said United Airlines representatives offered to take care of the hospital bills and other expenses.Palmer is doing better now, and the two hope to make it to their friend's wedding later Friday, Santra told CNN.United Airlines did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The incident did not impact airport operations, Dulles officials said.The-CNN-Wire? & ? 2019 Cable News Network, Inc., a Time Warner Company. A New York man is in custody after having been arrested and charged with threatening to assault and murder Rep. Ilhan Omar, according to the US Attorney's Office for the Western District of New York.Patrick W. Carlineo, Jr., 55, of Addison, New York, threatened to kill Omar because of her Muslim faith, according to a criminal complaint and accompanying affidavit.Omar, a Minnesota Democrat, is one of the first two Muslim women serving in Congress after being elected in the 2018 midterms.A call was placed to Omar's Washington, DC, office on March 21, an FBI agent stated in the affidavit.During the call, an individual, who identified himself as Pat Carlineo, said to a staff member: "Do you work for the Muslim Brotherhood? Why are you working for her, she's a (expletive) terrorist. I'll put a bullet in her (expletive) skull."Omar's office referred the threat to the US Capitol Police, which began an investigation with the FBI.Carlineo sounded angry during the call but provided the spelling of his name and contact information, the affidavit said.He was later interviewed by authorities where he stated that he was a patriot, that he loves President Donald Trump, and "that he hates radical Muslims in our government," the affidavit stated. He had initially claimed he had told Omar's office, "If our forefathers were still alive, they'd put a bullet in her head."When shown an email with the quote from the call regarding calling Omar a "terrorist" and threatening to kill her, Carlineo first replied that is not what he had said, according to the affidavit. He later admitted to authorities he may have said something like that but was unsure. Carlineo made an initial appearance Friday before a US magistrate judge and is being held pending a detention hearing next Wednesday, according to the 1847

Allegations of cheating have been a constant part of the Little League World Series, and this year's tournament is no different. The Barrington Little League team from Rhode Island will represent the New England region in this year's Little League World Series, but one manager said they cheated in order to gain entry to the tournament. Goffstown Little League manager Pat Dutton accused the Barrington team of stealing signs in both games the two squads played each other in the New England regional, including in last Saturday's regional final that Barrington won 6-4. “You can see (runners on second base) leaning in, looking in and they’re doing hand gestures to their kid (at the plate) indicating what kind of pitch it is and where it’s located,” Dutton told the 782

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a boy was thrown from the 10th floor at the Tate Modern gallery in central London on Sunday, the city's Metropolitan Police said. The 6-year-old was found badly injured on a fifth-floor roof and was taken to a hospital by a helicopter, police said.Officers initially said the boy was in critical condition. In an update on Monday, they said he was in "critical but stable condition." They added the boy's family was being supported by police.Police said the 17-year-old male suspect had remained with members of the public on the 10th-floor viewing platform and was taken into police custody."There is nothing to suggest that he is known to the victim," the statement added. The London Ambulance said it received the first call about the incident at 2:40 p.m. local time (9:40 a.m. ET)."We sent two ambulance crews, an incident response officer, a medic in a response car and an advanced paramedic to the scene. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance and our Hazardous Area Response Team," a spokesperson for the service said in an emailed statement.Nancy Barnfield, from Manchester, was on the 10th floor of the gallery with her two sons at the time of the incident. She said she heard a loud bang as she was walking away, and saw several people restraining a young man whom she said she previously noticed acting suspiciously. She said the man, who appeared to be 19 to 21 years old, looked very calm and was not fighting back.Police said a number of people have given them witness statements.Visitors to the gallery reported on social media that the landmark building, on the south bank of the Thames, was locked down as a result of the incident. The Metropolitan Police later allowed visitors to leave. The gallery was closed to visitors following the incident. Security guards at the scene told CNN it was unlikely to be reopened on Sunday. The Tate Modern was the most visited tourist attraction in the United Kingdom in 2018, according to the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions. The group said the gallery welcomed 5.9 million people last year. 2137
