RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong met with International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach here on Saturday on the sidelines of the Olympic shooting competitions.
He hopes China can, through various ways, join in Uganda's infrastructural development and construction of industrial parks. He also welcomes more Chinese to invest and travel in Uganda.
"Edgar Snow wanted the two peoples to be friends, that has been a big goal of the Edgar Snow Foundation, to introduce the Chinese people to United States people, and vice versa."
The pragmatic cooperation between China and Myanmar aims to benefit the people of two countries and gain win-win results, he said, noting that China is ready to integrate development strategies with Myanmar and plan cooperation in key areas.
Bach spoke highly of China's active role in the Olympic Movement and the contribution China has made, saying that the IOC is willing to provide necessary assistance for China in the lead-up to the 2022 Winter Games.
