LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A Panorama City girl is suing the Walt Disney Co. alleging she contracted Legionnaire's disease after a visit to Disneyland in 2017 to celebrate her mother's birthday.The girl's Los Angeles Superior Court negligence suit, filed Wednesday, seeks unspecified damages. Two weeks later, she developed a cough that worsened over time to include chills and a fever, the suit alleges."It seemed no matter what treatments were provided to Liana, she could not get rid of her sickness," the suit states.The girl was examined by an infectious-disease doctor at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital and she was diagnosed with Legionnaire's disease, the suit states.The suit further states that in October 2017, Orange County health officials found several cases of other people who suffered Legionnaire's disease after visits to the Anaheim theme park. Disney linked the source to two cooling towers, but they were inadequately treated so as to eradicate the bacteria, the suit alleges.The girl's health continues to be negatively affected because of her infection, the suit states. 1580

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A Los Angeles entertainment executive reportedly received two houses in Tennessee free of charge from the man authorities say was responsible for the Christmas Day bombing in downtown Nashville.FBI officials said Sunday that they believe Anthony Quinn Warner, 63, was responsible for the bombing, which originated in an RV parked downtown and occurred at 6:40 a.m. Nashville time Friday morning. The blast damaged an AT&T building and interfered with cellphone service and police and hospital communications in several Southern states.They also said Warner is believed to have died in the bombing, and there was no indication that anyone else was involved in the crime.The Daily Mail reported late Saturday that a house worth 9,000 was transferred to 29-year-old Michelle Swing in January 2019 by Warner, and another 0,000 home was transferred to Swing last month.Swing transferred the first house to another person, the Daily Mail reported.The 0,000 house was raided by FBI agents Saturday as part of the investigation into the bombing. Swing told the Daily Mail she had no knowledge of the most recent transfer."In the state of Tennessee you can deed property to someone else without their consent or their signature or anything," Swing told the paper. LOS ANGELES (AP) — California’s Republican Party has acknowledged owning unofficial ballot drop boxes that state election officials say aren’t allowed. California election officials received reports about the boxes in Fresno, Los Angeles and Orange counties. On Sunday, the secretary of state issued a memo telling county registrars the boxes are illegal and ballots must be mailed or brought to official voting locations. State GOP spokesman Hector Barajas said Monday the party owns the boxes. He declined to say how many exist and where they are located. Barajas said the state’s law governing so-called ballot harvesting allows an organization to collect and return groups of ballots. He said the GOP’s boxes are no different than methods use by Democrats to ensure ballots get returned.Neal Kelley, the Orange County's registrar of voters, said official drop boxes are clearly recognizable and carry the official county elections logo. She was 70.Engel died Friday in Princeton, New Jersey, said her friend and executor, John Quilty. The cause of death was unknown because she was a Christian Scientist and didn't see doctors, Quilty said Monday.Engel was best known for her role as Georgette on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," whose character was improbably destined to marry pompous anchorman Ted Baxter, played by Ted Knight.Engel also had recurring roles on "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "Hot in Cleveland."
