SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Video posted on social media shows a vehicle narrowly missing a pedestrian and slamming into a car in Pacific Beach. Dennys Morales says the incident happened just after 4:30 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Riviera Drive and Graham Street. Video shows the car making a turn before nearly hitting a woman walking in the street. The footage then shows the driver slamming into Morales' parked car. Morales tells 10News the man said his back tire was low, claiming he swerved to avoid hitting the pedestrian, instead hitting the parked car. A police report has also been made. “This person needs to be held accountable,” Morales said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Two bystanders were hurt in a shooting Saturday evening in Paradise Hills.San Diego Police said two Hispanic men were shooting at each other around 5:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Reo Dr. 10News spoke to witness Jauhn Hinkle, who was waiting to get his hair cut at the Fade Factory across the street. “Small caliber pops started going off across the street. I saw a muzzle flash,” he said. Hinkle said the fight began near the corner of Reo Drive and Cumberland Street. It escalated, as the two began to yell obscenities. Then one of the men started to chase the other while shooting at him. Hinkle recalled seeing five or six shots, all of which seemed to miss the intended target. Instead, two innocent bystanders were hurt. A bullet hit a 15-year-old boy in the thigh, and shrapnel hit a 48-year-old woman in the leg, police said.Hinkle ran toward the woman, who took cover in the La Palapa Market. “I asked where she was shot. She didn't know because of adrenaline and shock. She was on the phone screaming,” Hinkle said. The woman was transported to the hospital from the scene. The 15-year-old boy was transported to a different hospital, at a later time, San Diego Police said. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries.Hinkle said it is disappointing to see his neighborhood be the scene of a violent crime.  “Project Reo is doing an excellent job. Shout out to them," Hinkle said. "We want this place to pick up. and I think it is, so it's not reflective of what this neighborhood is like.”The shooters ran away. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Wednesday, the Marine Corps Recruit Depot reported that 26 additional Marine Corps Recruits had been sickened by E. coli.Currently 214 recruits among the more than 5500 recruits in training at both MCRD and the command’s field training facilities at Camp Pendleton are symptomatic of E. coli.The total number dropped from a reported 302 Tuesday. Some locals say they're concerned not having access to life's essentials, but others are discovering delivery apps and services to get them through self-isolation. Since the Stay-at-home Order, phones at the Eldahmy Wellness Pharmacy in La Jolla and Barrio Logan have not stopped ringing. It's because they have a pharmacist available 24/7, and they not offer free deliveries-- not just on prescriptions, but over-the-counter items as well. "We want to help people," Ahmed Eldahmy, Founder of Eldahmy Wellness Pharmacy, said. "It doesn't have to be a patient of ours. Anyone can call us, and we will deliver to you as long as you're in San Diego County. "Many San Diegans have started using delivery services like these for anything and everything. "We're really trying to stay in the house as much as possible," a Carmel Valley man told 10News.He has a wife and three young children. One of his daughters has Celiac Disease. She requires a special, gluten-free diet. He said he could not find anything on the shelves, so he searched online and found Instacart."I downloaded the app, and I placed the order, not knowing if it will be for filled or not, and that was Monday," he said. "They scheduled a delivery for Friday, and it worked out relatively well. We probably got 90% of the stuff we had ordered."For a small fee, a personal shopper went to Costco on his behalf. He said his experience couldn't have been better. "As he gets to something that is not available, he was messaging me saying 'Hey, would you like this as an alternative?'" he said. "Yea, I would've hugged the guy if I could!"He also online-ordered other goods from retailers shops ad wineries. Many he said are now offering discounts. "We had set up Daily Harvest for a weekly delivery so we have some things for my daughter, and I'm trying to support local businesses too, knowing that they are going to get hit hard," he said. "We had ordered some wine from Orfila Vineyards in Escondido. We also made an order from Seaside Market. We love their stuff and ordered some of the cracked tri-tips that arrived two days later."He said he plans to use these online and delivery apps until he gets the all-clear. They wear white coats and navigate empty roads. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — With California's theme parks and other family activities closed or restricted because of the pandemic, pumpkin patches have become an even more popular source of seasonal joy.The patches are able to operate under certain restrictions, though some operating rides may be at odds with public health orders.Cell phone video taken this week at The Pumpkin Station on Camino del Rio South in Mission Valley shows lots of visitors, some wearing masks and others not, and some small rides operating.The owner of the patch told ABC 10News they have a capacity limit of 250 people and require employees to undergo temperature checks and wear face masks. The owner said the location can't make customers wear face masks if they don't want to. As for the rides, the owner said calls to the San Diego County Health Department about whether rides are allowed were not returned. The owner said the rides are sanitized between each use as well.The county referred ABC 10News to California's guidelines for amusement and theme parks, which says all operations must be closed in the red and purple reopening tiers. San Diego County is currently in the red tier.As for other spots, like the Strawberry Fields in Carlsbad, there are no rides but there are inflatables.The owner of Carlsbad Lagoon tells ABC 10News that they've been working with the county ever since they reopened and that there are no specific guidelines for inflatables. The county says that as long as they are not completely closed, things like inflatables, slides, and obstacle courses are allowed.Carlsbad Lagoon added that they sanitize frequently and restrict admission to adhere to social distancing guidance. 1694
