(SAN DIEGO) KGTV -- A Scripps Ranch woman is demanding action for a problem with her Samsung refrigerator that she says has gone on too long.Stephanie Nivinskus bought her Samsung french door refrigerator in December 2014. It cost her nearly ,000. She said she had issues roughly six months after she bought it. "It's been a headache since the beginning," Nivinskus said. The first problem was the ice maker does not function properly, according to Nivinskus. "The ice just gathers and collects up there. It makes it so it doesn't work," Nivinskus said. She also has issues with the temperature of the refrigerator. The FDA says a safe temperature inside a refrigerator is 40 degrees or below. During the interview with Team 10, the thermometer inside of Nivinskus' refrigerator read about 56 degrees. "Having spoiled food is a real problem," she said. Because of that, she doesn't keep much food in her Samsung refrigerator, opting instead to keep her food in an old refrigerator from a different company they bought from a neighbor.She said the water dispenser and the freezer works, but that is about it. She has paid for a couple repairmen to come out over the years, but Nivinskus said the second person who came would not work on the refrigerator. "He said there's been so many complaints that they've gotten and that it's not fixable," she said. When she discovered there were other customers dealing with the same problem, she contacted Samsung. They offered her a partial refund with conditions. Nivinskus said she was told by a Samsung representative she had to physically cut the refrigerator's cord, remove the stickers inside the refrigerator, and sign a waiver that said she would take no further action against Samsung. Even after that, she said the refund would be "pending approval" from Samsung. "It's not a guarantee," she said. Samsung is currently facing a class-action lawsuit regarding the broken ice makers. Attorney Jonathan Shub, a partner with Kohn Swift & Graf, said between 4 to 5,000 customers have reached out to their firm regarding the lawsuit."The number of inquiries that I have received in this case reaches levels that I have not seen previously," Shub said. There are currently more than 4,000 people in a Facebook group demanding a recall of Samsung refrigerators. In an email, a Samsung spokesperson told Team 10: "At Samsung we stand behind all of our products, including our refrigerators, and want to ensure our customers are completely satisfied. If a customer encounters any problem with their product or service, we encourage them to reach out to us directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG so we can provide assistance."Nivinskus says she has already reached out to customer service. "I want them to recall to recall the problematic refrigerator and refund everyone that owns one," she said. Team 10 asked what would it take to issue a recall, but Samsung did not answer that question. "It's more about, you owe it to the public. You're a huge brand. (KGTV) -- Margaret Wardlow doesn’t dwell on what happened to her one night in 1977 - a night that she became victim number 27 of the Golden State Killer. Just because she doesn’t dwell on it, doesn’t mean she doesn’t remember. Wardlow was the youngest of the serial man's victims, just 13 when she was tied up in her Sacramento home and raped.On Wednesday Joseph James DeAngelo, 72, was arrested in connection with a series of killings, rapes and burglaries that occurred around the state in the 1970s and ‘80s. Authorities from jurisdictions across California gathered in Sacramento to announce the arrest of a suspect in the decades-long East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer case.RELATED: Suspect identified, arrested in East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer caseIt's an arrest that brought back the memories of that night for Wardlow. She says at first, she had no idea her attacker was the Golden State Killer - aka the east area rapist, aka the original night stalker in her home. It wasn't until she looked up at the clock and saw it was 2:30 a.m. that she realized who he was.  "'This is the east area rapist, and this is what’s going on,'" she recalls thinking. "It was time for me to realize, ‘I’m dealing with a serial rapist.'”The man also tied up her mom, stacking plates on top of her so he would know if she moved.What he didn't know about Wardlow is that before her attack, she was on top of every story that came out in the newspaper about him. Knowing that he seemed to thrive on powerless victims, when he asked in a harsh whisper, ‘Do you want to die? (KGTV) -- More than 2,000 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of a million dollars or more were lifted by helicopter out of Rancho Penasquitos Wednesday.Drug Enforcement Administration officials tell ABC 10News, the illegal grow was found near a popular trail in the Del Mar Mesa Preserve Tuesday."In a city area to have an outdoor grow of his magnitude is extremely uncommon; we see these frequently in the backcountry," Sgt. Mark Knierim, Group Supervisor of the DEA Narcotics Task Force Marijuana Eradication Team.During the plant removal process, Knierim said a second grow location was discovered."We found a secondary area, another 50 plants were growing there, and then we found a processing area," said Knierim.He said approximately 300 to 500 pounds of processed marijuana ready for distribution were also discovered."Based on what we've seen historically, I would say this is most likely related to a cartel," he said.While recreational marijuana use is legal in California, the high taxes, permits, and fees for legal dispensaries may sway some people to break the rules. Knierim says a cannabis black market is now thriving in San Diego County."A black market has been created because of that, because people can do this at a fraction of the cost of having to have a licensed marijuana grow and make just as much money, if not more than what they're making at the licensed dispensaries," he explained.This year, Knierim said the DEA has discovered ten illegal outdoor grows and more than 50 illegal indoor operations."We've seen a tremendous upswing in people obtaining a piece of property, typically in our backcountry area of San Diego County, setting up greenhouses and setting up illegally without having permits," he said.While charges related to marijuana are typically misdemeanors in California, the extreme environmental issues with grows like the one discovered can lead to serious consequences."You have a lot of environmental issues, and all of those will be felonies," he said.Garbage, an encampment, and propane tanks were discovered at the grow in Rancho Penasquitos, but Knierim said other issues typically include native plants and trees being removed and illegal fertilizers and pesticides being used."The other issue is pesticides, they'll put pesticides out there that kill any of the animals that come in the area because the animals will eat their plants," he said.The DEA has not yet located anyone responsible for or linked to the illegal operation. 2505

A 10th child has died following an outbreak of adenovirus at a New Jersey rehabilitation facility, state health officials said.At least 27 children have been linked to the outbreak at the Wanaque Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Haskell, the New Jersey Department of Health said."To date, the individuals associated with the outbreak became ill between Sept. 26 and Oct. 29," it said. "The affected children had severely compromised immune systems — including respiratory problems — before the outbreak began."The viruses are found on unclean surfaces and medical instruments. They may not be eliminated by common disinfectants, but they rarely cause severe illness in healthy people. 700
