With the high costs, 30 percent of guests are declining the wedding invite, because they simply can't afford to go. Wedding costs include travel to the destination, which can often involve purchasing flights and a hotel. There may be additional costs for a new outfit or babysitting, and of course, a gift for the couple. It all adds up, and experts say not to go broke for a wedding. Wedding planner Lauren Smith, with Hour Glass Productions, says whether you attend or not, giving a gift is a must. "If it's a relationship that you want to continue with, you should still give them a gift,” Smith says. “If it’s someone [who’s] ‘ehh’ and we probably aren't going to talk or see them again, then don't give a gift," Smith suggests. But how much should you spend? Most experts say it depends on your relationship with the couple. Smith says whatever you think the meal costs. "Plated meals cost more. Buffets cost a little less, and if you go to a food truck wedding, it’s even less than that," she says. While cash used to be frowned upon for some, Smith and recent bride Sarah Valencia say money is a great gift. "They just gave us money for our honeymoon fund, which was awesome,” says Valencia. “And maybe it was , , or whatever, but it was fine with us." (WKMG/CNN) -- A 42-year-old Orlando woman is facing murder charges after authorities say she zipped up her boyfriend inside a suitcase.Deputies responded Monday after Sarah Boone reported Jorge Torres, 42, was dead.She told police she put him in the suitcase during a game of hide-and-seek.Boone said they were drinking alcohol, and she passed out in her bed while he was still in the suitcase.But deputies searched her phone and found videos showing Torres yelling he couldn't breathe from inside the suitcase.Boone can be heard laughing and saying, "that's what I feel like when you cheat on me" and yelling obscenities.She is facing second-degree murder charges. 677

(CNN) -- Vice President Mike Pence made an unannounced trip to Iraq to visit US troops ahead of Thanksgiving, landing in the country Saturday amid violent anti-government protests.Pence visited the Al Asad Air Force Base in western Iraq, where he was greeted by the US Ambassador to Iraq and several military officers.He received a classified briefing from the commanding officer on the base and spoke by phone with Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi.On the call, Pence told Mahdi that he traveled to Iraq in part to "extend gratitude to the men and women (of the US military) serving in your country," according to the TV travel pool with the vice president.Mike Pence and his wife Karen Pence later served the troops a Thanksgiving lunch, with the Vice President serving turkey and Mrs. Pence handing out yams.As service members came up to them, the Pences asked each where they were from and thanked them for their service.Vice President Pence then delivered remarks to about 150 service members in a hanger.
